Handa-kun, Vol. 1

Funny parody of daily school life in a Japanese secondary (high school) with the main character who is seriously shy but still manages to be popular with his classmates despite his best efforts to avoid them. He always manages to win even though he is trying not to and just wants to be left alone! He clearly does not listen and just jumps to the wrong conclusions. He is obsessed with Japanese Calligraphy and lives in his own isolated internal word - deaf and dumb to those around him. Very awkward setup, but manages to be very funny nonetheless! Rings true to awkwardness of adolescence!

I started reading this series because I enjoy the pre-sequel (series written first, but takes place after this one). Comedy of errors is what the series as listed as and it doesn't let a reader down. It's funny and engaging. Later on the secondary characters take more of a prime role, which is sad that we don't see much of Handa, but at the same time it's good to see what is going on in the minds of his 'friends' instead of just his. If you like Barakamon, or just want to laugh, this one will provide, though it would be best if a reader knows a little about the series before reading.

I am a huge fan of anime. I have started to read manga over the past 2 years. Handa-kun has some great moments of laughter but also makes you think about human relationships and psychology. I look forward to reading more. I am also reading Barakamon so it is cool to see what Handa-sensei was like as a teenager.

The misadventures of Handa-kun are funny and fun to read. The one down side is Handa's "friend" who purposely made his life miserable for his own selfish reasons. But there is no story without it. The comedy is based on laughing at Handa's mistakes and the foolish people around him.

I had so much fun reading this. There just aren't many clean manga out there. ( translated ) Very funny, Handa and kawafuji are just awesome characters. I love the Barakumon series , so its cool seeing Handa in this new series. I can't wait to read vol. 2.

An amazingly silly story of a young high school student who just can't catch a break (or so he thinks). If you love Barakamon, misconceptions, and hilarity this is the book for you. After the first chapter I was hooked, and just had to keep going.

Came in on time, and Handa-kun is just as funny and cute as Barakamon! I love the series!

Spin-off series are hit-and-miss and this one is a hit. Always enjoyable and gets better by the page. Highly recommended.

Me ha encantado.Conocia el de Barakamon, que es el mismo personaje de adulto, pero este es incluso mas comico.Lo malo es que ahora mismo solo esta el volumen 1 disponible y me ha dejado con ganas de mas y la espera se hace larga.No esta en Español por ahora.Si te gusto barakamon este te encantará.
