Great replacement for hydraulic brakes. No hassle to fit & pleasantly surprised by the quality. Everything you need comes in the box including bolts & brackets. Only minor niggle is that the front cable could have been a little longer while the rear cable was too long!! Easy to cut down the rear, not so easy to add a bit to the front!! All in all very good value for money 🙂

Bought these on a budget to replace hydraulic disk brakes on an old mountain bike. Limited instructions, but brakes were easy to fit and included bracket converters for my older fixings. Rear cable is a bit long and probably should be shortened. Initially I thought the brakes were poor, but they got better as the pads bedded in. I would say these mechanical brakes are fine for rough road or trail use, but for "real" mountain biking, you probably want some Shimano hydraulics.

Brake set...Easy to fit on my Boardman Hybrid...although the rear cable needed cutting slightly shorter. Brake pads supplied. Gap adjuster included.

The pads wore down in 2 weeks but they are reasonable quality

OK, Perfektionisten und Dogmatiker werden mit so etwas am MTB nicht mehr ruhig schlafen können. Weil ich aber nicht zu diesen Gruppen gehöre, bin ich bis jetzt mit der Bremse als Ersatz für eine 9 Jahre alte Elixir 5 absolut zufrieden: + einfache Technik im Gegensatz zu Hydraulikbremsen, im Fall Elixir 5 schwer zu warten sind. + einfache Montage (Bevor man die Montageanleitung verstanden hat, hat man die Technik schon durchschaut). + Einstellung unterwegs ohne Werkzeug, kein Schleifen mehr. + Bremswirkung OK, ob die Beläge wirklich kompatibel sind wie angegeben, wird sich zeigen. - Kolben drückt nur auf einer Seite, sodass die Scheibe beim Bremsen 0,4mm zur Seite gegen den anderen Belag gedrückt wird. - Kraftaufwand höher als vorher, aber für mich akzeptabel. Achtung: Bauartbedingt tragen die Bremssättel zur Seite hin mehr auf als die hydraulischen, passen also hinten nicht in jeden Rahmen. Das Problem hatte ich auch beim ersten Versuch. Passt nur, wenn die Anschlagpunkte hinter der Strebe sind (Foto). Gerade bei Bremsen gilt natürlich: Einbau und Gebrauch auf eigenen Gefahr!

So far, they've been a solid set of brakes. Easy to install and reliable to use. I'm impressed, given the cheap price.
