Right Tool Right Job
I really like this mower specifically for its use. I keep a lightweight mower for detail work around landscaping plus for use on hilly portions of my yard, and that was my intention for this 20” push mower. What surprised me however, was that because it’s so light and maneuverable, almost immediately it became my go-to mower. Surprisingly I can do my entire yard, ~1/2 acre, on a single charge. If the grass is wet and/or long however, the run time drops precipitously. My solution? Instead of buying the expensive 4Ah batteries, I just bought Greenworks self-propelled bagger that came with two batteries! I vastly prefer this mower and hardly ever use the self-propelled one because it’s heavy, not as agile, plus the self-propelled feature is of marginal benefit. I will keep that one for fall leaf cleanup and if I let the grass grow inordinately long, but this guy works wonderfully! I would buy it again undoubtedly!

Satisfied Customer
This mower is small, powerful ,lightweight and gets the job done. I bought an extra battery. Battery life is approximately 30 minutes but I have no complaints. Came fully assembled only needed to set the handle and the the side grass dispenser. Both were easy and I was ready in a few minutes. Battery takes about 2 hours to charge. I was so impressed with the ratings I forgot to get a lawn mower with a catcher bag so I end up having to rake up grass clippings. Totally my fault and not the manufacturer. Next time I'll pay better attention. Overall very satisfied

Seems like a good little mower.
I bought this mover to keep a regular sized city yard maintained of about 5000 square feet. It will cut about 1500 square feet on a charge it seems. I went ahead and ordered another 4AH battery after using it because the recharge time was a definite pain. It cut through some pretty heavy grass without much trouble. I has a metal deck and the heft of a gas mower. My only complaint is actually one I saw in another review, and that's a small quality control issue. It came without one of the threaded knobs that the locking cams that hold the handle screws into. It was way frustrating to get all set up and then have to drive to the auto parts store for a 5/16-14 nut to put the handle together. Once it's together it works with all the functionality. Before you get it just buy a 1 1/2 inch 5/16 bolt and nut so you can mow right away. I'm not sure it's worth bothering them for a threaded knob, but it doesn't speak of great QC overall. Update: June 2023 As I suspected, small things on the mower have broken over time. The most glaring is the side mulch plug assembly. It appears cheaply made and the holes that the pin goes through to hold it on sheared off. The Greenworks website says the part is out of stock with no ETA on availability. Without the piece the mower blows the discharge all over you and makes mowing unpleasant and dangerous.

Two of these mowers plus a battery failed quickly, and the weed whacker is awful too
Two of these failed on me. The first one lasted under 2 years, the second one under 1 year. Also one battery completely failed, which is about a $100 replacement. My lawn is tiny (under 1,000 square feet), the unit is stored properly, and I take care of the batteries. I bought the whole Greenworks kit: the leaf blower (works well) and the weed whacker, which runs fine but never spools the string properly. So you're constantly cutting with a 2-inch string or having to manually unspool the reel for 90 seconds of good cutting. Asinine. This product is Chinese by origin, but manufactured and repped in the US, which makes me wish the company well. But I have to advise against their products. I'm done with my e-mower trial. My previous gas mower lasted 10x as long as these things and was working when I got rid of it in favor of an e-mower. Mistake. Going to buy a used Toro gas mower and use the remaining Greenworks tools and batteries until they fail. Shouldn't be long now.

Great lightweight mower
So I bought this mower as a trim mower. Our yard is an acre plus I mow for the next door neighbor who has an acre. My rider is a 54” cut John Deere. As a trim mower, this is perfect! I didn’t want a bag and didn’t need self propelled. IMHO this is not a terrific finish mower, but it is close. It does a great job of mulching although if the grass is really tall it tends to leave a trail of clippings, but no clumps. It ran exactly 30 minutes before the battery was exhausted. I’ll update this as I use it more. But for now, for the money, if you want a simple mower, this is a great choice **update** having mowed with it a couple times now, I can say that the battery is right at 30 minutes unless you are mowing higher grass or putting it under a load. Second, it really mulches well. And the side discharge is very handy. But be aware that the side discharge is designed to wind row (leave the grass clippings in clumps but in a line) For a small yard, for a trim mower out for anyone needing a basic mower, it’s really worth the money.

Shatters lasts longer than I expected
I have a lawn to mow that is approx 6000 sq ft. Although I have only mowed it once with this lawn mower (it took four battery charges), this lawn mower is a delight to use. It is light, quiet, and easy to push and maneuver. I mowed a lot of thick grass and it did great. I have a 42 inch riding mower but I got tired of dealing with the repairs, noise, and heat of the summer. With this mower I have to take breaks so that the battery can charge, which is nice. Cordless mowers are very simple. You have a battery, an electric motor, and a switch. There is not much that can go wrong. With the riding mower, you have to worry about expensive parts failing, like speed governors, compression release cams, etc. I've been mowing my lawn for 30 years and I decided to reduce my lawn size to 6000 sq ft (approx) and try this cordless mower for a while. I may go back to the riding mower some day, but for now I really like the convenience and simplicity of this cordless mower. I mow for a while, take a break, and then mow some more. I found that you do need to be in good physical shape to do this but the exercise is great, too.

Good mower if you’re not in a hurry
Edit: I’m lowering my score from 4 to 3 stars because the battery takes much longer to charge than indicated. Each charge has taken more time. The first time was a hour. The next charge took 90 minutes. I mowed this morning and drained the battery. It has been two hours since I put it on the charger and it’s only 3/4 charged. That’s a pretty big difference and I’ve only charged it three times. Another battery would make sense but they’re expensive. However, these pluses still make me recommend it. I’ve always used gas mowers but have found them more difficult to use since getting older (67 year old woman). I live alone now so there’s no one to hold the gas can driving home from the service station. Pulling the chord repeatedly is getting tougher and I just ruined my last mower by putting way too much oil in. This mower is so much easier to use. Put in the battery, push a button, lift up the bar and I’m good to go. It’s easier to push because it weighs a lot less and is not nearly as loud. Changing the cut level is a breeze because you only have to do it with one handle. This mower cuts as well as my gas mower and is easier to maneuver. There are a couple of downsides besides the slow charging. This mower is narrower so you won’t cover as much ground which requires more time. Sometimes the battery can be a bit difficult to get in because you have to push hard to get it to snap into place. Again, the benefits outweigh the negatives.

🔋 Greenworks 40V 19" Brushless Mower: The Ultimate Campsite Game-Changer
🏡 Campsite & Storage Solution Purchasing the Greenworks 40V 19" Brushless Cordless Lawn Mower for my permanent campsite was a game-changer. The two major advantages of this unit—ease of use and storage ability—make it uniquely suited for the RV/campsite life. Compact Storage: The handles fold up completely, allowing the entire unit to be stored vertically. This feature alone is worth the investment, as it takes up minimal space in a shed, small garage, or even a tight utility corner, which is essential when dealing with limited campsite storage. Zero Maintenance: With no gas, oil, or spark plugs, there is no risk of spills, fumes, or the typical maintenance hassles of a gas mower. This makes it quick to start, quick to put away, and keeps the storage area clean. ⚡ Battery Performance and the Half-Acre Cut My property is approximately 0.5 acres, which is often the boundary where battery mowers can struggle, but the Greenworks 40V 19" Brushless Cordless Lawn Mower handled it admirably. Single Battery Test: I found that the included 4.0Ah battery was consistently capable of tackling the majority of the lawn on a single charge. This aligns perfectly with reviews that suggest this model is ideal for up to 1/3 or 1/2 acre under normal conditions. The Second Battery Solution: To comfortably cut the entire 0.5 acres without rushing or worrying, the purchase of a second battery was a smart move. This gives the necessary runtime to handle slightly longer or thicker sections of grass and ensures the job is finished in one session. This is the recommended approach for any yard bordering on a half-acre. 🤫 Operation & Build Quiet and Convenient: The quiet operation is a huge plus, especially at a campground where you don't want to disrupt neighbors with engine noise. I could mow early or late without being a nuisance. The push-button start is instant and reliable every time. Brushless Power: The brushless motor delivers plenty of torque for an electric push mower. While it’s not a powerhouse built for overgrown jungle grass, it efficiently and cleanly cuts a regularly maintained lawn. The 19-inch steel deck feels durable and capable of standing up to regular use. ⭐ Final Verdict For anyone needing a reliable, powerful, and, most importantly, easy-to-store solution for a medium-sized lawn (especially for a remote location like a campsite), the Greenworks 40V 19" Brushless Cordless Lawn Mower is an outstanding investment. The decision to add a second battery for the 0.5-acre lot turns it into a perfectly capable, gas-free machine.
