SANTA BE WARNED- PACKAGING SAYS TONKA No cover box!
I have not opened this yet as it was ordered early to be our gift for our older son for Santa. As a word of caution if it is from Santa make sure you are home to receive it and not your kid. Imagine my disappointment when my 5 year old went out side to the front porch and said Mom, Dad there is a box outside I am going to bring it in...IT SAY TONKA!!!!. It was cute he thought Santa brought it early however, he only just wrote his letter to Santa, we mail it out Monday. UGH!Like I said I have not opened it but I have to give a rating and since every truck we have ordered from Tonka in the steel truck lines has been AMAZING for our kiddos I am giving it a 5 rating. To note, we have the excavator (now 2 years old), dump truck (now 3 years old), and front loader (Just bought for our little ones birthday only a month old). The older two have lasted a long time, and been though a lot they are amazing, and even work great when our kiddos want to help with gardening. I recommend all of them.

These things are awesome!Only complaint is that some parts are plastic, not all metal construction like when I was a kid.Still super strong and lots of fun!

Everything we wanted for our grandkids
I was delighted that the blade on the grader could be manipulated in many of the same ways a real No. 12 Caterpillar Motor Patrol could. Up, down, and rotate, as well as steering the front wheels. My father had a couple graders that he used to build roads and snow plow in the oil field. We got two of these Tonka graders for my grandson and great nephew. They were both exuberant about them and we spent hours in the snow making roads.I am always concerned about metal toys and sharp corners, poke points, etc, but everything that needs to be rounded is and things like the exhaust are made of soft rubber. It would still hurt to be walloped with it, but there’s no danger in normal play.Given all this I was very happy with the price.The only thing that disappointed me is that it wasn’t manufactured in Minnetonka, Minnesota, but in China. That’s the only reason for four stars instead of five.
