KICKER 48DCWR122 CompR 12" Dual subwoofers in Vented Enclosure, 2ohm

This is a great subwoofer box, I love that it's a loaded enclosure so it's ready to go in the trunk and play some bass, the build quality is great, all of the cuts look machine finished, there are no gaps, or air leaks and you have a very reliable pair of kicker drivers! And you get some very high quality logo stitching at the top that just looks great. I've had this box in my car for 3 years and I frequently play it with quite a bit of distortion. I adjusted the gain to about -7db down to 35hz, it's risky but I use my sense of smell to know its limits LOL plus I can hear when it's clipping too much. I use kicker's dsp LOC to flatten the signal and a separate eq to fine tune bass, mids and highs. However, the enclosure tuning is not to my liking. On kicker's website it states that the box is tuned to 33hz which is true, but the box is too small to play those frequencies at its limits. It peaks at 50hz, and drops steadily sort of like a sealed box. If you set your gain to max the output at 50hz and tune your crossovers accordingly, it plays well to about 42hz, after that you can hardly hear anything below 40hz. On WinISD I input the T/S parameters that kicker provided for the Comp R and used its recommend box dimensions; the results are what I expected. If you want the full range down to 33hz you need to sacrifice a bit of volume between the 40-50hz range; it's still very loud at that setting, and it sounds so good at the low end.

Sounds amazing, going to blast your ears out and everyone will hear you coming down the road.. Best thing I’ve ever bought, truly love it; paired with my 1000 watt amp.

Throbs like a MF. Matched up with the 2000watt kicker mono amp...have the gain turned to half because my eyes jiggle too much when driving.

Speakers came double boxed and in a bag. When hooked up to a 750watt amp they thumped and sounded great. When hooked up to a 2000watt RMS amp they pounded! Great Speakers Will buy another pair for other car.

Great Value. R is the reliable series. I pulled the subs and rewired everything in parallel down to 1/2 ohm. Running them on a Taramps HD 3000 1/2 ohm new version. 1200-1300 watts at peak roughly, just measuring voltage to the speakers but not accounting for impedance rise. Stock wiring they sound cleaner. The Bass is tight and sounds great on any kind of music. 1/2 ohm is deeper and not as tight. 20 f150 had no rattle, roof flex or anything at 2 ohms. 1/2 sounds like the dash aint even secured in place. Make sure you have adequate power at 1/2 they want amperage. Kicker has tech documents on their website to make properly tuning your amp simple. A volt meter is all thats needed to properly tune rms wattage. Radio head unit turned up to 70% max volume, meter on speaker output of amp set to ac, check the chart from kickers website for the voltage that matches RMS of subs or amp which ever is lowest. done. leave it right here and these speakers can be played at that 70% level all day long. your amp will tap out first I promise. Thats why mine are on a 3k now. The 3k hits over 1k watts before the gain knob reaches the first line. its practically idle. I have a taramps pro 2.4 dsp that the stock head unit. 8" ford sync 3. Mids and Highs fed straight from there and a soundstream bass reconstruction before it hits the 3k to the subs. With all that being said these subs dont get super low. adust your crossover accordingly or these things will be slapping around pushing air but not making a peep. Love Sosa

2Ohm woofer boxes are the future in sub boxes. Kicker speaker design is the best. I bought two more 12’s after I herd these speakers. Bass for days.
