id like to grow this indoors will a viparspectra p1000 full spectrum grow light be enough light for it to fruit?

Hi Vipar… That’s a strong lighting setup — I would imagine it would be enough because I planted several plants at the same time in the sun. But I was glad I held off a bit exposing the fig plant to full sun because it looked frail. In fact it was the last plant of the fruit series I planted at that time. Every plant grew aggressively including the coconut palms. The fig tree, I discovered couldn’t handle the full sun right away — I kept it in partial shade longer than the others…and finally after about three weeks it began to show it was alive by producing three strong leaves. I fed the tree with the appropriate food and watered it every day when the sun became overwhelming. I live in hot weather all year so that might be relevant. Bottom line, it will be behind a hedge bush for half the day after the sun passes it at full height, at which time it will be fully exposed — it seems to be working.

Will this grow in my area i live in pocatello Idaho.

Hardiness zones for Olympian fig tree is 6-10, it may survive in the winter with extra covering and protection but would recommend to plant in the large 20-30 gallon pot to grow in the summer, and move them inside during the freezing cold winter.
