Love it!
I absolutely LOVE this mixing bowl. I bought it to go with my KitchenAid Artisan Series 5 Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer in Boysenberry . It is large in size, which is great. It fits perfectly well on my mixer. The lid is great for storing food/excess mixture in the fridge. It seals perfectly well. I actually have this bowl in my fridge right now with left over mashed potatoes that I made in it with my mixer. Since it is glass, obviously you can watch while your mixing and know that everything is being incorporated and mixed thoroughly. It is a bit pricey, but I feel like it is worth it. It is very heavy and looks great. I expect it to last... forever. If you keep checking back here at Amazon and look where it says "Used and New from xxx.xx" you can find great deals on them. "Used" usually just means it was a return, but never actually used. I bought mine that way and saved 30 bucks! It was listed as "used" and said "packaging may be damaged." When I received it, you could tell it was clearly brand new, never out of the box and definitely not used. The box did look a little messed up, a corner of it was a little crushed, and some of the graphic was like scratched up, but who cares about the box?? It saved me a lot of money and was perfect.

Great addition to a Kitchen Aid mixer
Bought this as a gift for a friend who loved baking and loved her Kitchen Aid mixer. She absolutely loved it and still uses it to this day. The convenience of having the measurements on the sides so easily viewable pretty much turns it into a giant measuring cup. Locks in tight with the mixer and doesn't wobble at all. Very sturdy and thick glass means it's durability should last. The handle is thick and easy to grip. It does weigh noticeably more than the stainless steel bowl that most are used to so keep that in mind if you're going to moving your mixer around on a regular basis.

Glass bowl, you can see the cookies being mixed.
To make sure you're a winner, you can buy this for your significant other. I purchased this for a Christmas gift as I was sitting on the couch with my wife watching Rachael Ray. She saw the glass bowl and made a comment about nice it was. I, being the ever so cool and geeky husband, grunted and slyly pulled out my phone. A few minutes later, the bowl was on the way to the door step, the wife none the wiser. Christmas day, the wife opens it up and immediately goes to see how it fits on the Kitchen Aid mixer. I must admit, it looks quite stunning sitting there on the mixer with it's cool little plastic lid that has an indentation in it so the mixer can be set flat without the head poking the lid. Best part of all, you get to see all the mixing action from the side as you're enjoying your beverage of choice and the S.O. is making your favorite dessert/cookie/meal. It really is a win win situation. Other bonus features, not that I'd use them, is the easy to see measurements on the side; lid should you want to store something in the bowl for a bit; and the slightly larger capacity.

I love it!
If you have a KA mixer I consider this an investment. I've had mine for at least 15 yrs and have been very happy with it. I have a 4.5 quart stainless steel bowl and was interested in the glass. First I called Kitchenaid and when they told me the glass bowl was $99.99 and the lid was $15.00, I asked them why they were so much higher, I was told once they sell to Amazon they can't control what they sell them for so naturally I decided to purchase from Amazon. I was reading a few of the most recent reviews and the one talking about the price of the bowl, this is a great price for both the bowl and lid unless you would rather pay $115. There was a reviewer talking about trouble with the lid not snapping on, at first I did have trouble with the lid, I was trying to snap on from the back of bowl and it did not seem to work so I then put it on by first snapping on the spout and then going around to back of bowl and that worked, next I went to put bowl on mixer and it seem to not lock, I did not realize the gray ring on the bowl was not tightened so I screwed it on tightly and placed it back on the mixer clockwise and it locked in place. I placed each attachments on to make sure they were sitting in the bottom of the bowl correctly and there were no adjustments needed to the mixer head and another plus, all of my attachments, the flex edge paddle, the regular paddle, the whisk and dough hook all fit perfectly in the bowl for storage. I'm very happy so far with the bowl and I have not used it yet, I'm looking forward to making my next cake, all pros here!!!!

WOW, Bought for my girlfriend
I recently purchased this KitchenAids 5-Quart Glass Bowl as a gift for my girlfriend and I must this thing is incredible. At first I was wonder why do I need to buy a $70 bowl for her KitchenAids stand mixer it already has a metal included. In the never ending efforts that I put forth to keep my girlfriend happy I broke down and bought the bowl. When I received it, I took a few minutes to inspect for any damage. Upon this inspection I noticed Wow! this isn’t just any old mixing bowl, this one is special! Here are some of the things that make this bowl so freakin’ special: -It’s made of glass, so you can observe items you put in the bowl -There are measuring increments on the side so you can measure the contents that you place in the bowl -The base of the bowl is constructed to securely attach to a kitchen aid stand mixer -A handle is securely built into one side of the bowl, allows for easy one handed lifting and added control -The is a spout opposite sided the handle, an excellent feature for pouring out the content of the mixing bowl -Last but defiantly not least is the plastic lid that is included with the bowl, perfect for cover and storing a your KitchenAids glass bowl This is truly an amazing product. I could not be more satisfied with my $70 bowl purchase. There are very few things that I have purchased in my life that I could consider a better purchase that a $70 glass mixing bowl -Matt

KA K5GB 5-Quart Tilt-Head Bowl: A Learning Curve for Removing the Bowl from the Base Clamping Plate
This tilt-head 5-quart bowl is beautifully crafted with measurement markings on it and comes with a lid. The bowl can be placed in both the freezer and the microwave (after removing the rubber thread ring, which came pre-installed). When I screwed the bowl onto my Artisan 5-quart stand mixer bowl base clamping plate, it fit fine. However, when I tried to remove it, it was stuck. I then ran an internet search and found a video that one other buyer made to address this very problem: Instead of unscrewing the bowl counter-clockwise, I had to counter-intuitively unscrew it by continuing to screw it more tightly! At this point, the rubber ring popped up and the bowl could easily be removed. We thankfully have a very active, helpful, KitchenAid user online community for sharing tips to help others solve problems that they have had. Some buyers wouldn't think to run an on-line search to try to fix this, while others might get upset and call KitchenAid for help. Still others would get mad, send the item back to Amazon (a reseller which isn't KitchenAid), and ask for a refund. KitchenAid could have caught this problem during its Quality Control 6 Sigma Checklists if they had gone through these lists with my bowl. Note that if I had bought this bowl directly from the KitchenAid site instead of Amazon, I would give this bowl 4 stars; I can't blame Amazon for this problem, so I am giving Amazon 5 stars for reselling a great product, processing it quickly, sending it to me in a timely manner, and selling it for a great price.

Nice bowl
I really enjoy this bowl. Its very large and glass. It comes with a cover which i dont use because the bowl is so huge..i dont put it in the firdge. I like that you can see the mix and what is and isnt mixed in. I dont care for how it fits in..kind of weird..i thought it wouldnt fit at first but once you get the hang of it..it works fine with the artisan tilt head. I use this because i like the way it washes and looks. I dont have to polish it like i might for the stainless. great buy.

Have not used the other bowl since I got this one. Love it so much I had to reorder immediately when I broke it
I love it so much that when I broke mine while washing it this morning (got a little spazzy with Playtex gloves on and it hit the cast iron sink pretty good) I immediately logged on and ordered a replacement. That's love. I do make a lot of bread in my KitchenAid (multiple times per week, I almost never buy commercially made bread) and I absolutely love being able to see the dough at the bottom and how it's sticking tells me exactly whether I've got too much or not enough water. I bake bread so much that I can tell based on how it's sticking or cleaning off the side whether I've got enough water in it. I really can't believe I waited so long to buy it. When I put mine on I wedge it with the pour spout against the mixer head support so that it can't move. If it didn't do that I feel like you might risk banging it around but if you wedge it, it's solid in place and no issues. The one thing I do miss is the pour spout, not so much for pouring but for keeping the flour in the bowl. What I do is clip a clean towel over the top of it with a chip clip and go to town. I think I'm going to glue or sew some velcro to a towel and have it be a permanent solution. Maybe I'll invent something. I LOVE the cover and how it keeps the bowl clean. Big time-saver. In reality though I'd say that even with that one drawback with the pour spout, it's only a half-star off the final grade and I'd say that the fact that I ordered a new one within a half hour of having broken mine is pretty strong evidence that this is AWESOME.

Awesome Addition
The Bowl is Awesome, I love it. I love the fact that it has a cover so I can pre-mix stuff then chill it in the fridge. The bowl is bigger than the Stainless Bowl, wider. Love having the measurements on the side as well. This is definitely a bowl that will get lots of use and actually maximizes the usage of my Kitchenaid Mixer because now I have 2 bowls to work with when making one recipe. No cleaning in between! YAY!

Produit original : très bien
Acheté pour remplacer un bol en verre de 6 ans d'âge que j'ai cassé. Le socle en plastique semble un peu moins solide que l'ancien. Mais fonctionne parfaitement.
