Dog Crack
So far so good. My dogs eat it like I eat cake. But luckily it's good for them.

Possibly too much of a good thing
I have three dogs: a lab, a GSD and a french bulldog. The lab is horribly allergic and suffers from chronic ear infections. The GSD and Frenchie only recently started with the paw-licking, perhaps due to seasonal allergies. The GSD also always had a sensitive stomach as a puppy with frequent loose stools. I had him on a food specially formulated for GSDs, and although it seemed to help him, I wasn't crazy about the brand or the ingredients. I had them all on separate foods and was looking forward to getting them on the same diet and was hoping this would be the right fit for all three. PROS: The food tastes good. They all like it, which is a definite plus. The kibble is small, but that means the frenchie can also eat this food. The transition was VERY easy. I was expecting some loose bowels, but I followed the transition instructions carefully and none of them had issues switching within about 4 days. The food doesn't have an offensive smell, like some other brands I have tried. After 1 month on this diet, the GSD and the frenchie seem to have less irritated paws (no redness), but they are still licking. It might be my imagination, but the lab's ears seem better too - less irritated and that yeasty smell seems to have abated too. CONS: The POOP! In my GSD and Frenchie this food produces large and I mean LARGE quantities of poop. My GSD recently had an accident in the house - after I walked him and filled up two poop bags full. 1 hour later, while I was on a conference call, he pooped again - in the house - a full-sized amount. Today I walked him and filled THREE bags of POOP! And guaranteed he will have to go again later. The consistency ranges from very formed and solid, to a little smushy. The Frenchie has the same issue, although on a "smaller" scale - bottom line: this food makes them poop A LOT. Before this I could count on two poops for the GSD and Frenchie, morning and evening. Now its open-POOP season. For this reason, I'm not sure this the best food for our lifestyle - I'll have to walk each of them 4 X a day instead of twice and that's a lot of walking for 3 dogs. I will keep them on this food for a bit longer to see if their systems adjust, but maybe I was being unrealiistic in thinking I could have 3 very different breeds on the same food?UPDATE: After about 9 mos on this food I have to say it’s the best I’ve tried. Poop issues have returned to normal amounts. They all still LOVE the food. And I mean run circles around me and gobble it EVERY SINGLE DAY. Lab still has occasional ear issues and all three have their itchy paw moments but it is greatly improved. I’m sticking with this brand.

Not for large breeds??? False advertising
I bought 2 bags for my 2 Great Danes believing it would be ok, as under the description it says for all & including large breed dogs….HOWEVER if you continue to read further down the description it says it is NOT meant to be for Large breed dogs over 70 lbs (in adult stage of life). So very concerning as I don’t mind paying extra for something that will help my Danes but now am concerned they are not getting all the nutrients they need. Cant return so I just wasted over $200!!!!

Doesn't upset my dog's tum tum
My dog has a sensitive tummy but loves a little kibble. This is one of the few brands I can give him that does not upset his tummy. I soak it in 1/2 cup of warm water and add canned food to it.

Effective alkaline-based food for special needs dogs
I would recommend Canine Caviar for anyone who has an older dog or one with special needs. A healthy diet can sometimes be the answer or at least help a lot, and based mainly on chicken and brown rice, this alkaline-based brand is well formulated to give to good balance of nutrients, gluten-free and no additives. It's definitely a bit on the expensive side, but this could be a great help and well worth it if you've tried everything else.

Highly recommended - great quality and a picky little eater loved it with NO tear stains
I'm extremely impressed with this. it really does have some quality ingredients and supplements and no cheap fillers. I have a pure white Bichon Frise who, the moment she eats anything with beet pulp in, gets tear stains. (those unsightly pinky/purple streaks down their face). It's actually much harder than you think to get dog food without inexpensive fillers in. Beet pulp allegedly provides bulk and fibre cheaply whilst not harming the dog - but if you have a white dog it's pretty obvious that it's all-pervading in the dog's system as their eyes, face and sometimes paws become discoloured quite quickly. It also seems to make mine itchy generally. So I was delighted to see that this doesn't contain any!My 5-year-old dog has been eating Lily's Kitchen the British organic brand kibble for the last 4 years and is happy with it. She's refused most other brands that I have tried her with. Unusually for a dog (so much more of a cat trait to go on hunger strike in my experience!), She will simply refuse to eat if something doesn't meet with her approval. Her approval of this started when the driver delivered it. He put the large heavy box in the hall for me and I went to take a shower. When I came out my small dog had virtually dismantled the huge box with teeth and claws. I was startled as she isn't a destructive dog usually! She gave me one of those patented "But it's for me!" looks. I opened it and gave her a small bowl - which she wolfed down. Instant Success and most unusual. She's been eating it happily ever since and I'm delighted. From an owner's perspective, although it isn't cheap - In fact ... per kilo it *IS* cheaper than her usual Lily's Kitchen Organic kibble.A couple of other positive little things (especially if you have a small dog too) is that this kibble is really small - perfect for little mouths. Also the bag has a super-sensible easy-open, resealable slit in the side so if you put it in the correct place you won't have to move it again to decant food.I don't have any negatives I think we just changed her food for life.
