Just loving this little tape measure. I need to get square footage of different rooms for new AC systems. So easy to use this thing. Really intuitive, highly recommend for your tool box. Even though it looks so designer.

I like the size and design of this tool. I keep it in the change pocket of my jeans along with my guitar picks and penknife and I have been using it around teh house but haven't used it for work yet. I have had it with me but just haven't needed to measure any distances for anything. I am an Estimator for an HVAC/Electrical Contractor and was planning on using it for conduit and duct estimates but I haven't needed to do that in teh last week I've owned it. I may upgrade to 5 stars if it works out when used outdoors. I love the design though, it's just much better design than others. I like the fact I can save measurements to my phone but I'm still writing them down out of habit. That may change once I familiarize myself with the app.

I spent 45 years in construction, management side - because I don't have the skills to be a tradesman. I have way too many laser measuring tools, but so goes life. Some in my tool kit have tremendous abilities, but really 95% of the time I only really need 1 - how far this that. Those other ones are kits, cumbersome, and often set in the desk. This little unit, well, is little. So I slip it in my pocket, it is there when I need it, doesnt fight me for carry, so mega portable. The accuracy meets industry standards, has the 2 measure options: 1) from tail, 2) from tip. This gives you the choice the place against the wall, or measure from your standing position. Honestly, these are the 2 measures you really need. Like other HOTO tools, the build quality is very good, reliable and ready to work. I think this is a good buy.

I really wanted to like this, since it was super small and had a nice screen that is easy to read - My plan was to use it to measure walls for baseboard after replacing flooring. Unfortunately I found the measurements to be consistently incorrect, when compared to a traditional tape measure and a Huepar laser distance measure. On a 36" (exactly) measure, it came in around 35-9/16, which is far enough off to make it totally useless.

Ok, so yeah, you can easily find something similar to this, that can do mostly everything that it does, as well as a whole lot more, for something like thirty bucks. Well, I already knew that before I ordered this laser measuring tool. And I also already knew that I would have to use the app to switch between the front-based mode for free measurement, and the tail-based mode for edge measurement, because one of the pictures said that was the case. Now, I think they should have made this so that you didn't have to use the app to switch between those two measuring modes, but they didn't. And since I already knew that before I ordered this, if I was upset about it then that would be my own fault, lol. But despite that, I still ordered it. And I can't say exactly why either. I think I'm starting to develop a compulsion to obtain as many of HOTO's products as I can. I don't know, they are just very attractive to me for some reason. I think HOTO might even be a part of that very popular Beijing company, Xiaomi, because that's the developer of the Mi Home app that is sometimes used with HOTO products. And speaking of the app, it's actually not half bad. But don't just take my word for it. Because at the time of this review, the Mi Home app on the Google Play Store had 50 million downloads and had an average rating of 4.2 stars from ONE MILLION reviews! Anyway, I wouldn't recommend gifting this to someone, or using it yourself, if it's going to be used as an everyday measuring tool on constructions sites or anything like that. No, this is more meant for use around the house every now and then. Well, that's my opinion at least.

I love design and going through reviews i ordered, delayed delivery. Look and feel was good, didn’t gave right measurements instead repeated old ones, maybe i received defective one, so returned. I felt The Mi xiomi App is not useful, changing measures don’t need app. Gave 3 stars for design only, Otherwise the one i received doesn’t make any stars.

توجد لدي مشكله بالجهاز حيث لايقبل الاقتران مع الجوال او مع اي تطبيق خاص بالجهاز والبائع غير متجاوب معي ابلغه بأن لدي مشكله بالجهاز ويرد علي فقط بنفس الرساله انه لايمكن استرجاع المنتج من سوء تعامل البائع اطالب بإسترجاع المنتج فضلا وليس امرا وشكرا لكم

Es un buen producto y sumamente cómodo. Si bien el precio es algo elevado para su función principal, las funciones adicionales que ofrece la aplicación móvil hacen que valga totalmente la pena. En cuanto a la precisión, es muy similar —si no idéntica— a la de otros productos que he comprado anteriormente, a pesar de que esos otros cuestan apenas un tercio de lo que vale este. Adjunto una imagen para que puedan ver cómo las mediciones son básicamente iguales. La configuración inicial del dispositivo es bastante tediosa, pero una vez que se logra, el producto se paga solo gracias a que guarda el historial completo de todas las mediciones realizadas.

As advertised. When I first laid eyes on this product what attracted me most was the fact it won a design award in 2021. If you own any Apple products, you understand how important that is and this device is no exception. Sorry haters but all of those ridiculous reviews I read that talk about a fuzzy screen and this and that and the other thing… NO. There’s nothing wrong with this device Directly out of the box it was in imperial. It was not in metric. Manufactured date reads December 2024. It’s October 10th. Did NOT have to install any app, did not have to use any Bluetooth connection because it’s a point-and-shoot device! Everybody knows that walls are 8 feet. I just now placed it on the floor and pointed it to the ceiling, and what was the reading? * 8 feet and 7/16ths of an inch! Pretty damn accurate I’d say. Then I read in other reviews about the device being dead. Maybe you should read the manual? It tells you in the directions to charge this device every three months. You can hardly whine or complain that your machine is dead if you don’t follow instructions. I read most all of the reviews and in one of them somebody tipped their hat to a potential solution to any power problems. There was some talk about the power cable. The USB cable that comes with the machine inside the corners of the box that that cable is proprietary. I haven’t tested this theory but that might be why there were power problems - so people, use the cable that came with the machine. That would eliminate guessing. All in all very happy for a $40 purchase, however a few professional building contractors who left their reviews should NOT look at this device as an industrial solution. You’re definitely better off going with BOSCH. This device is not a workhorse. It is meant for “almost-accurate” measurements in limited places. But for me, this device is slick and smooth and an Award winner! It’s an insult to the judges in that contest to pan this product. Sure, the screen is fuzzy who cares? It’s part of the design. So is the hole. A real beauty to hold and use! PS: look out for the hole, Don’t put your finger in the hole! 😂 it might get STUCK. It’s actually printed directly on the device! Lawyers - go figure 😜

Super handy to take measurements with. Only slight downside is the software/app you have to use if you wish to store the measurements seamlessly. You have to use the app Xiaomi Home, which I'm honestly not a fan of when it comes to using this laser measurer. The app isn't dedicated to the device, so you have to jump through a few hoops to get it going. Just wish that was done better.
