Manic Panic Prepare to Dye Clarifying Shampoo for Women & Men (236ml)

I have very dry damaged bleached hair and this shampoo made it even more dry and hard to comb through but that just means it did its job. It’s supposed to strip your hair of everything so you have a fresh base to work with, and that’s exactly what it did. I’d say that’s a good thing because manic panic hair dye tends to cling to dryer more coarse hair anyway which makes it brighter and last longer. Plus the hair dye itself is very conditioning so does help the dryness. Just make sure to use a hair mask and leave in hair serum for the next few washes to keep your hair looking soft !

VERY drying on my hair, but did the job when trying to remove accidental orange dye from my hair.. definitely use with a professional grade hair mask!

Product was extremely thick and wouldn’t pour out of the bottle so I had to remove the lid and use a lot of force for it to come out. Again, because it was so thick it didn’t spread very well in my hair so I used a lot of water and ALOT of product . One wash and nearly half the bottle had gone!! I do have long / thick hair so maybe not sited to this hair type. Didn’t fade the colour of my red hair much at all. In fact I couldn’t notice a difference from before and after washes . I could get a better result using a head and shoulders type shampoo . Would not recommend , especially for the price!

This certainly strips the hair of products. Would only use occasionally and only with using a rich conditioner after. Wanted it to remove colour but that didn't happen. Hair did feel very clean after use. Pricy for what it is hence 3 stars

This shampoo has completely dried out my once healthy, coloured, long thick hair. I bought it to fade the dark brown hair dye I’ve been using for quite a few years as I want to go lighter and after reading some great reviews and doing some research I purchased this. It’s totally stripped my hair of everything except the colour, so much my hair is breaking after one wash. I even put in a really thick nourishing conditioner after which I left for an hour to try and sort it out and now it’s dry and frizzy. I would avoid if you use bleach or have damaged hair, I hate to think what it could do to it if it’s already fragile. So yes it cleanses and I mean cleanses but use sparingly and with caution. Back to the old head and shoulders trick for me!

My hair dye faded just as fast as it would using a different shampoo and conditioner and it made my hair feel weird and sticky

I know it works to take out all the build up out of my very thick wavy hair before dying as after washing its frizzy as hell.

Huele bastante bien para lo que son estas cosas. En mi caso llevaba una mezcla de varios tintes, no solo manic panic, así que no sé cómo será sólo con tinte de la marca. No quita todo el tinte previo (en mi caso) pero ayuda a que se vaya el color. Deja el pelo bastante seco, pero es normal con este tipo de productos. Si no tienes prisa y tienes paciencia, va haciendo.

I originally bought it to use before dyeing my hair with henna, but I liked it so much that I use it once a week to remove buildup from my shampoo bar. I have a sensitive scalp, and it doesn't irritate it. I have sensitivity to fragrances, so I was really happy that It has a nice smell that's not overwhelming. I recommend not buying it during winter months. The first bottle likely froze in transit, so it became a thick gel, and it was hard to get it out of the bottle. This one was perfectly fine.

This did so much better than I expected it to. Long story short, I ended up with hot, brassy roots and black hair. After one wash this brought the brassiness down immensely and after two washes it's practically gone and my hair feels nice and clean. The black is fading slightly but I'm hoping after a few more washes it will dull down even more. Obviously dries hair out a bit but adding a leave-in conditioner afterwards helped. Would definitely recommend.
