This is a simple device and should work. 1. Plug it into a router position 2. Plug a cable from your computer into slot 1. 3. If your computer gets on the internet, then that slot 1 is good. 4. Now plug the cable in slot 2, 5. If your computer works in that slot, then the splitter is good. 6. If slot 1 o 2 doesn't work, then the splitter is bad.

yes, you can, But two computers cannot work at the same time. If a single computer is connected to a printer, the other computer cannot work.
