Sturdy, easy to install, provides us with a safe railing
First let me say that this is the 2nd one of these I have installed, my husband and I are getting to that age where we need a little help getting up steps and these filled the bill. The first one is on our front step and I liked it so I wanted one for the garage. The first one came from a different merchant that no longer sells it, but this one is identical. This took me about 1 1/2 hrs to install, but it would have been less if some of my tools hadn't been missing in the garage and I had to go find them. The product comes with almost everything you need to install: A drill bit for concrete, expansion pipes for concrete, 4 Hex head screws w/caps that can be used for concrete or wood, an Allen wrench to install the screws that hold the top rail on and those screws. In addition to a Drill you will ALSO NEED a 14mm wrench or socket to tighten the Hex head screws down. What DOES NOT come with it are any Comprehensive instructions, just a parts list and a few diagrams, nor are there any on the website, so I'll try to help you with some here. Reading other reviews 1 complaint I saw was that the cover that goes over the base kept getting in the way. To help with this slide the cover up and either tape it up or wrap rope or use a clamp on the post just below the cover so it can't slide down, my pic shows I used tape. If you are installing in cement use the provided drill bit to drill the holes and tamp in the expansion pipes, then screw the post down using the Hex head screws. If you are installing in wood, DO NOT use the provided drill bit, it is the same size as the Hex head screws and you won't get a good grip (this is probably why some of the reviews felt the screws were loose?). Instead use a 1/4 in drill bit to drill the holes and then use the 14mm wrench to tighten the Hex Head screws down (be sure the post is facing the right direction for the top rail). Remove whatever you used to hold up the cover and slide it down. Attach the top with the provided screws using the Allen wrench. This is sturdy and a simple design that looks good. The one on the front step has been out there for about a year and been exposed to rain, snow, sun, heat and still looks great. It was an affordable investment.

Great safety device
Just what I was looking for. Excellent construction, good looking and easy to install. It’s used indoors to help in going down two stairs. Everyone appreciates the protection it offers. Very sturdy!

Porch Railing
It feels well made. But the curled ends have a problem. On the inside, the shape of the curl holds water after rain. There's a rib on each side and the bulge from the center shape holds water. So, with no drainage, rust forms. I'm going to have to paint the inside with Rustoleum to stop it, as well as drill a weep hole in the bottom for the water to drain out. Not a good design. The concrete anchors leave a lot to be desired. I suggest you go to the hardware store and get something better. I used the bolt style you pound into a 3/8 inch hole and tighten the nut to secure it. I had to enlarge the holes because the threads were a little off. It wasn't hard to put up and the height is right. It's sturdier than the last one I had. I just wish the inside of the curl at the ends was designed better with a weep hole.

Nice posts that can be used together to make longer handrails
I needed a longer handrail for our front steps and a shorter one for the back steps. The posts in this kit lend themselves well to attaching to longer wooden handrails you can get from the hardware store and look nice. I had trouble with the masonry bit and concrete anchors that came in the first kit we bought, but the second kit had a nicer masonry drill bit and stouter anchors and went much better. I think I was using the wrong sized bit for the first install because the included bit didn’t work with my drill, and the holes were very slightly undersized. Also it’s super tough to get four holes drilled in exactly the right spot in concrete. But if you can manage that, these posts feel sturdy once they’re in and are great value for money. I also noticed the price had dropped after my first purchase and the seller (not Amazon) refunded the difference, customer service was quick and very good.

Quick, easy instant handrail, low cost, very attractive
Very nice handrail! I got this for my back porch steps. It is perfect! I was not quite sure how the manufacturer intended for the screws to actually be installed, as there's a 'cover' of sorts over top of the screw. I ended up taking that cover off, and am ok with not using those. I drilled a hole to get started with the screws. I am using an adhesive to help make sure the screws are secure for a long time. It is lightweight and very quick and easy to install. You will like these! Good price, too!

Solid, Well built, good paint
I put two of these where our patio door steps down to the walkway. My wife has an artificial hip and wanted something to rely on. I dug a post-hole and filled it with Sacrete so these fit the purpose well.

Our handrail broke over time
This handrail was purchased to help us get up and down deck stairs safely. We were happy with it. But over time it has been gradually coming apart -- a dangerous development! I live in a dry climate, so can't blame this on rain. Check the rail you installed for a similar problem. That seam holding the top to the bottom is of poor construction, hollow underneath. If you press down, it will break, taking you down with it.

We were super pleased with the look and functionality. It’s very attractive and easy to install. Unfortunately the top cracked off one of them within two weeks of installation. The weld was barely attached. I’d like to replace it but not if the seller can’t offer a warranty that covers this type of thing. Buyer beware

Pour mes escaliers extérieurs. Rien à couper ce sont des vis. En plus la mèche de béton était incluse de même que la clé et l'allen key
