I have had this for almost a year. Worked great until now. seems the switch is gone, so it is now unusable

The thermometer has been useful for more than just meat. I like the quick response, or instant read. I have only used it a few times so far, but it has met my expectations and is a very reasonable price.

Initially worked well. But stopped after a few months. Tried replacing battery to no avail. Would not buy again.

Probe review
This thermometer seems to be accurate and gives a fast reading. My only problem with it would be initially trying to remove the probe from the base you sort of have to pry it out with a blade.

I purchased this digital thermometer from Amazon on August 29, 2016. I have a Big Green Egg and needed a thermometer that would check the temperature quickly so as not to lose the heat when I raised the lid on the smoker. I used it exactly three times between August 29 and Christmas and it worked great. On New Years Day we decided to smoke a whole chicken and envite some friends over. After 4 hours of cooking I decided to check the internal temperatgure of the meat. When I turned this thermometer on, all I got was "888.8 E" or error message. I tried turning it off... installed new batteries twice... all to no avail. It will only display the error message and quit working. I do not recomment you purchase this item. $19.97 is a bit much for a thermometer that only works 3 times and dies.RDH, TN

Well Done Cave Dweller
The Cave Dweller works exceedingly well. It is easy to use and appears to be accurate in reading temperature. I have used on beef, chicken, and lamb. Results have been great. I like the feature of having temperature guides on handle. Also like the size of probe. The Cave Dweller greatlyexceeds anything I found in local stores
