Instant relief, cautiously optimistic
My cat has gone under sedation twice in a couple years and both times he started scratching incessantly and ripping his fur out a few days after his procedures. His skin developed white plaques/scales all over his entire body, bald spots all over (to bare skin), nonstop scratching, absolute misery. I suspect it’s a drug reaction to something they’re giving him in surgery. Poor kitty has been in a sweater for weeks and even if I took it off for just a few seconds, he’d be ripping his fur out again. We just started an immunosupressant, one that helped last time, but he’s only had two doses so far so I don’t think it’s working yet. However, I decided to give the little guy a bath with this stuff this morning just to help get some of the scales off in the meantime, and holy moly - he stopped scratching! I didn’t use much soap because I wasn’t sure if it would burn and I didn’t leave it sit. Just used a tbsp or two and rinsed it right back off but all the visible scales that were littered throughout his fur are gone, he isn’t scratching at all, he seems relieved, and I was able to take his sweater off for the first time in almost a month. Check out the pic. He’s just resting comfortably for the first time in a long time. I’m cautiously optimistic because anything can change but as of right now, I’m amazed.

A must for Pyoderma & Folliculitus
If your dog has pyoderma or folliculitis this shampoo is an ABSOLUTE must. I read some reviews that this shampoo made the animal's condition worse. First off if you research a benzoyl peroxide shampoo you will read that it "flushes the follicles". The shampoo in conjunction with antibiotics & steroids helps drive the infection out of the skin and follicles. I have used PetMd for 1.5 weeks every other shampoo in conjunction with the Cholrihexadine shampoo and my dog's (Shih Tzu) severe folliculitis is finally clearing up. After the first 2 baths with PetMD, her skin did break out but then started to clear up as the infection is flushed out. She has been battling this since August 2022 and was misdiagnosed by 2 other Vets so her infection is not easy to clear up. The key is you must be CONSISTENT and use the product every 2 to 3 days, leave it on for 10 minutes AFTER you lather your entire dog (I use the timer on my iPhone) for as long as recommended by your Vet. The shampoo does have a nice citrus scent and very minimal lather, I do notice that a day or two after a bath I do smell a "peroxide" scent, but this means the product is working as it should. I do recommend that you use this shampoo in conjunction with your Vet as your pet will need steroids or histamine for the swelling that comes from the removal of the bacteria. After a few more weeks I will post another update, hopefully with some photos so that you can see the massive difference. PetMd has a customer for life and I will not be without this.

I’ve used pet MD for 3 years!
Pet MD makes the best shampoo for dogs. I’ve been using this brand only for 3 years; it’s the only shampoo I trust for my dogs skin. The bottles last a pretty long time for the price. It is definitely worth the 20$. The scent is light and nice, it makes his fur soft as well. First, my dog has severe allergies so anything will irritate his skin, even if we change our carpet cleaner the poor baby will get a rash. So he is really sensitive. This is my first time trying the shampoo in this blue bottle. I always bought the “PET MD medicated shampoo management of skin conditions” it’s in a red bottle and I really hope this brand brings that back because I couldn’t find here!! That is by far the best one although this one works pretty well. I’d say with this bottle it does stop the itching but as for relieving and calming the skin the red bottle or the red wipes work best. This is a really trustworthy brand overall and vet approved so I highly recommend this brand and will continue to buy, but please put the red bottle in stock as well! Thank you PET MD and thank you to Amazon for overnight delivery, so we were able to get my pup quick relief from his allergies!

No more scratches!
I was super skeptical bc my poor dog itches daily and every shampoo I've tried has continued to make her itch. I gave her her first bath with this about 3 hrs ago and she has not itched one time! Im super impressed!! If anything changes, I will update!

Takes away Sebaceous Cysts
Game changer for our Belgian Malinois. He gets sebaceous cysts easily and this shampoo has helped tremendously on keeping them away and taking away the ones that do exist. Significant skin improvement. It also smells really good and helps with his coat to shed those loose hairs like a conditioner.

Works well for my yeasty/allergy dog…
My dog has seasonal allergies and she also tends to get yeasty when her allergies are bad. She gets smelly, scratches constantly and sheds like crazy. This is the only shampoo I’ve used that really seems to help and have a lasting effect. With other shampoos the yeast smell is literally back within 24 hours. This really seems to knock it down. Her itching is decreased as well. It lathers very nicely and rinses easily, leaving her fresh smelling and her coat soft. Will definitely keep using it.

Takes time, and effort, but it does work!
My 8 year old dog seems to have sprouted blackheads on her belly overnight - more like over the past year, but it felt that way. Turns out a dog's body changes as they age, too. Took her to the vet and he said it was just that, clogged pores. I've had to be really good at bathing her regularly, and following the instructions - including the wait time - but after 3 months, it looks remarkably better! It really freaked me out, at first, and I was worried it was some kind of mite. Don't get me wrong, definitely go to the vet if you have the means, but also don't panic. They're covered in fur so their pores are hella different, it makes sense that their version of acne would look freaky to us 😂 I also use a Furbliss rubber brush to lather the shampoo as well as an oatmeal spray conditioner afterwards. If you find a way to make it enjoyable for them, it becomes a lot easier. The rubber brush scritches her skin real good, so it becomes more tolerable to her. Anyway, good shampoo, you should get it.

Didn’t really help. But not the product itself’s fault.
I can’t really give 1 star or 5 stars. It didn’t help my cats skin issues but in saying that, I also don’t really know what is wrong with her. I’m sure the product itself is fine and it was misuse on my part.

Soft and shiny coat.
I used this on my Greyhound with suspected blocked follicles. It made her coat incredibly soft and shiny but did dry her skin out a tiny bit (which was to be expected) and gave her dandruff. I shall give it a few more goes to see if it clears out the skin.
