High quality, works well, easy to use

This is a budget 3-hole punch for home use, not recommended for use in an office setting where it would get heavy use. The recommended 12 sheet capacity will require a fair amount of downward pressure to punch through 12 sheets of paper and if you're using heavier stock paper it will require more force. For occasional use at home it should be fine. I would rate it 5-stars if it had a guide that allowed for the exact same vertical positioning so you would always have your holes aligned. Because it doesn't have a vertical "stop" guide you have to make sure you center your papers every time so that tops and bottoms of your papers are equal distances to make sure your holes are aligned. So precision alignment will be as good as you're able to align each piece of paper. The bottom has a rubber base so it won't scratch your desk top. The rubber base is removed by pulling off the metal frame. This allows you to empty out the paper holes you've punched.

This is a nice, quality hole punch for the price. Has a little heft to it and doesn't seem cheaply made. The rubber base comes off easily to empty and goes back on again without a problem. It says 12 sheet capacity; I was only able to punch about 10 sheets but I'm older so maybe someone with more arm strength than I have could do 12.

Kept one and gave one to niece. Good price. When I opened it, I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't close to punch. No instructions. 2 black plastic pieces need to be broken off to use. Just discovered it by chance when one broke off while I was trying to straighten it. I thought maybe it was working because the piece was crooked. Now that the pieces are out of the way, it works. It would help if they included a sticker saying remove these black pieces.

So far there have been no issues with durability, no strange noises, and nothing loosening or bending. Overall it genuinely feels more premium than the standard metal models I have used before. The only thing to keep in mind is that it is best suited for normal day to day use. The 12 sheet capacity is fine for most tasks, but if you are regularly punching very thick stacks, this is not a heavy duty unit. For typical home or office paperwork though, it delivers exactly what you need with a better feel and finish than the average punch. Filing systems in Europe are NOT what I'm familiar with. So I had to buy a 3-hole punch to work with all my existing notebooks, etc. Works well, punches cleanly. 10/10 would absolutely buy again.
