Yes and no, this is a stainless steel damascus core so it's less prone to rusting than your typical high carbon content damascus. However you do need to clean/dry the blade after any use that might get the blade moist because it can still rust. I just wipe it down with a microfiber if it gets wet. Problem solved

True. You can see the core steel down the spine of the whole blade and feel the ridges. Super sharp with a little first touch up when you get it. Super impressed. Buying one for my dad and best friend as gifts.
