Yes, the adhesive side of this great insulation is very good. I used it to replace my under the hood insulation on my car. It works great. Just make sure you use some kind of roller to press down and get it to stick like it should.

What kind of heat is this rated for?

I'm not sure on temperature resistance wise, but I used it as a heat barrier on the underside of my car's hood. It has a adhesive and has worked great so far.
