After 1 year of usage I'm reviewing it. It's good I didn't had any problems. Data transfer and speed is good. Don't expect very high speed transfer. I'll update if something goes wrong.

Packag was just a cardboard and HDD box was encapsualted whitnin it.The HDD is compact. The capacity is 4.54 TB is shown. Seems decent, The Color is Blue as shown in the Product Description. The attached cable seems delicate but no connection issues. I ran a health check using CrystalDiskInfo. The drive is a Western Digital 5TB model with a 4800 RPM rotation rate, and it reported a 'Good' health status. The Power On Count was only 3 and Power On Hours was 0, confirming I received a brand-new unit, which is great

My passport 5tb. Very bad drive and service. Just after 1 year of use, it got damaged which says drive can't be initialised due to fatal system hardware error. They took 20 days for replacement when they said 7-10 days max. The replacement drive which was recertified drive was also having the same error. They didn't even check the replacement drive before sending. Then after complaining again and arguing for 2 weeks they told to give me prime(new) drive in 7-10 days. Then they say drive is out of stock. Company which makes hard disk has out of stock hard disk. Who believes them. Then they say they can't ship the drive because their RMA System is in upgrade. It took 12 days to upgrade. Then after 12 days they say, their system is in migration so they can't ship it. They want more 1 week time. See this is their worst service. My friend bought a new WD my passport 5 tb hdd. It was in stock for him, but for me it is out of stock. All lies. Very bad service. No data retrieval also from their side. At least segate give 3 years of data retrieval services, but WD don't. Don't buy from this company. Worst ever.

Got this HD, with discounted offer. Fabulous Disk, been used WD passport since a decade. No problem except the little bit heated issue.

If you're looking for large capacity drive this is best you can get. it's new line of previous gen and now comes with Password Encryption, though 450Gb less that's quite a lots of GBs Lost But it will be same with all drive despite of brands. you can wait for great offer to get Better Deal.

I had been using another old WD passport purchased back in 2019 and it got some of the data corrupted. After some searching I got to know even if you're using the hard drive for occasional backup purposes only you should plug it in to your computer from time to time and use it else the magnetic disks can be corrupted. Also don't keep any hard drive, SSD, USB 90% full . In Windows it basically means don't let File Explorer turn the storage bar red from blue. Also, if you're planning to use it across Windows and Mac then format it in exFAT format and be sure to the formatting from your Mac and not Windows.

最近高くなってきていますが、それでも他のHDDよりリーズナブルですが、ちゃんと安定して動いています。 5個目のリピートですが、今の所不具合に遭遇していません。 まあ、バックアップをする時に繋いで、バックアップが終わったら外すという使い方なので、負荷は少ないからかも知れませんが。 このシリーズの良いところは、何色もあるので、複数使用している時でも色で内容を分けておけば一目瞭然だという事でしょうか。

I have many WD Ultra hard disks & this is my first 5T version. As usual, no problem when connected to my 4T BeeStation as a backup disk. Great product.

It may not be an SSD drive but it performs well decent speed in comparison and is backed by an amazing company as well.

We love the WD My Passports. Great for backups. Comes with backup software, but we don't use that. We use Handy Backup instead. The 5TB is the perfect size for what we need. Easy to connect and disconnect. These drives last 4-5 years with continuous use. We replace them every 4 years and have never had 1 die before being replaced.
