IYV PRS Tribute. It is worth more than I paid for it.
First off, I am giving this five stars because of value for the money not because it is a five-star guitar* I bought this as my first iyv guitar. It was $108 "used" . It is a PRS copy. If you buy this the first thing you do to do is change the strings. It was 95ish% intonated when I got it, which usually does not happen with guitars that are shipped to you. That was the next thing that impressed me after the beauty of it. It doesn't have a binding. It has an unpainted wood stripe around where the binding would be. It had some issues with pint bleeding, and the top finish is probably pretty delicate. The flame maple looks nice but it's not deeply figured, I really would not care if it was fake at this price. About an eighth of a turn adjustment on the truss rod made the action almost perfect with no buzz. I bought some pickups too put in it but they sent the wrong pickups and I kind of like the stock pickups now I decided not to replace them yet. The tunerss are locking tuners and they are also pretty good for the price. They did need tightening because they were pretty loose. I think this is a cow bone nut? But I'm not sure. It had no catches and I just put some graphite in there for good measure. I usually replace the nut in every guitar that I own but the jury is out on this one. The fretboard was pretty dry, it had a few hight spots in the outer frets but nothing bad. I sanded a little and that went away in t minutes. I oiled the fret oard and it was quite nice after a couple applications. It didn't have a little spot in the finish, but it was used, so it was acceptable. It is barely noticable. This is The Best guitar I have ever purchased for the price range. I had no idea you could get a guitar under 200 that was this good out of the box. I do not even mess with cheap Gibsons or cheap fenders, etc. Most of my guitars cost a lot of money and I enjoy this guitar just as much as any of them on any given day. Even if somebody does not know what they're doing as far as maintenance of a guitar, you could get it professionally set up and have a better guitar than most name brands for twice the price or more. . Let me reiterate. This guitar is great for the price point. I'm so excited about it that I have 2 more IYV guitars coming in the mail, and a really nice mosrite tribute was delived on Friday. Somebody please stop me from getting more! The keep going on sale for less than 120 bucks brand new. Keep watch and you can snag them with a 15-30% coupon. The pickups are 4 conductor, by the way. Amazon's return policy is very good in my experience, so you can test it out and make sure there are no flaws or issues Also, my reviews are generally more negative than this. 😅

A whole lot of guitar for the money 💰
I Had been watching the guitar for about a year or so now. I said to myself if it went on sale again and dropped below a $150 I was going to buy it. It showed up 1 day at a $135 or so. Again I browse through the reviews. Again I tossed and turned. I said ok, it's $135. In 1979 my dad spent $175 on a used Cort Les Paul Jr with about 6" action at the 12th Fret and had razor blades for Fret ends. According to Google that's $600+ today. I bought this for $135 today. This is my 2nd IYV guitar and according to general consensus I got very lucky the 1st time. I got lucky this time also. They package these things in bathroom tissue and then send them off with the Samsonite gorilla for delivery. This 1 arrived in a nearly flawless box. After unpacking and inspecting closely from head to tail, I decided she had arrived free of shipping damage. Woohoo!! After much closer examination this was the findings. If you think you are getting a 2k+ PRS or something, you will probably be sorely disappointed. I'm in my late 50s and grew up in a time when men were men and American men were not afraid to dive into what they had or could afford and make it as close to what they were looking for and dreaming of. If I wanted to beat it up I could put pictures in this review (and I did) of a dent on the top, or the place that wasn't shiny on the joint of the neck, or the place on the bottom "ear" with the weird run, or the Sahara desert dry neck, or the spot of black on the binding in the upper ear....What I saw was this...after I put some super slinkys on it, straightened the neck, polished the frets, put 3 coats of D'dario Hydrate on the fretboard, cleaned and polished the whole thing with carnuba wax, played in the strings and intonated it (isn't this stuff you do to every guitar you buy new or used?) Lastly applying some Silglide Hydra glide to the nut and bridge this thing plays and sounds like a dream. The 1 I got has fully functional hardware and everything feels good and quality, knobba and switches. Volume knob will change tone as Volume increases. Pick ups are clear, yet sound really good with pedals and different amps etc. Pictures do not do the beauty of this instrument justice. It does everything it is supposed to up to and including making my mind up on buying the real thing. Also p.s. this guitar is very addictive. I think about it when I am at work and stay up and play it after my wife goes to bed....p.p.s. I had credit card points, rewards and a gift card, so with tax I ended up with $9.37 in this axe....Best $10 I ever spent!! R.I.P. Dad. He also bought me a 1979 Fender Player 1 which I still have to this day

Above average guitar, great value, and very fun to play
This is an incredible instrument. Great value!! The design is fantastic, I absolutely love the finish. The neck is comfy and the fret ends are not sharp. It plays well and sound great right out of the box. It obviously needed tuning and will need new strings but what guitar doesn’t. I am extremely impressed and will be holding onto this one.

Great Craftsmanship - A Well-Built Guitar
I highly recommend this IYV 6 String IP-350 guitar. I do not buy guitars to look at them, I buy them to play and perform. This is my 2nd IYV guitar, and I bought it because I was very satisfied after purchasing an IYV IJZ-300 TSB. For beginners this IYV 6 String IP-350 guitar is playable right out of the box after tuning. I did not find any noticeable finish flaws and this guitar is a looker and has caught the attention of numerous musicians with the way the strings are configured. Most all guitars require some setup, and both IYV guitars I have purchased required modifications to meet my personal suitability and playing style. I enjoy setting up my guitars and modifying them myself. If you do not know what you are doing, I would highly recommend NOT doing any setup and modifications yourself and suggest taking the guitar to have it setup and modified professionally. I realized this is a really good guitar worthy of investing a little more money for customization. IYV guitars are solid and well-crafted making such modifications easy for me. Here are the changes and modifications I made: I changed the tuners with Chrome Grover 305C Mid-size Rotomatic 18:1 3x3 tuners. Next, I replaced the bridge with a GM005 Chrome Guyker Guitar Tune-O-Matic Roller Saddle Bridge, and it fit perfectly. I used the original bridge posts, and this is the 2nd IYV guitar with lose bridge post adjusting screws. Applying Teflon tape easily fixed that looseness. I would recommend changing the strings. I personally prefer D'Addario 12 Flat Wounds. This required a little filing on the nut for the strings. It also required filing the first three frets down to keep low action with no buzz. No Truss rod adjustments were necessary. You can avoid filing the nuts and frets by using 9- or 10-gauge strings, but I prefer heavier gauge strings. I then took the opportunity to apply a little lemon oil to the fretboard. The intonation was adjusted and accomplished easily, and I did make some adjustments to the pickup height. All parts and everything needed to accomplish customizing the IYV 6 String IP-350 into "your guitar" is available on Amazon, the result is an easily modified guitar customized to your personal liking. The ease of playability is really good at least for me. Don't be fooled into believing this guitar is a cheap, poor-quality guitar because the price is so reasonable. The IYV 6 String IP-350 is a well-crafted quality guitar.

Great value for the money
I have been playing guitar & doing my own guitar mods & setups for 50 years. I have another IYV guitar which I am greatly impressed with (IYV IJZ-300 TSB). For the price, this guitar is an excellent value. It is playable out of the box. All guitars need to be set up for best playability. Even high-end guitars require initial, and ongoing, setup & maintenance. I had to do very little to bring this guitar to a pro level of playability. The neck was dead straight. As is typical of all lower-priced guitars in my experience, the frets did need some work to get them perfectly level. Before leveling and crowning frets, I first use a fret hammer to tap frets down. Shipping, especially from overseas, subjects guitars to temperature & humidity changes which seem to dry out the fretboard & cause frets to lift up slightly. On this guitar, tapping frets down with a fret hammer where they were a little high leveled them out perfectly. I did not need to file down any frets. I like a low string action, and with straight and level neck and frets I got the action down quite low. The nut was cut correctly. I usually swap out nuts with adjustable brass or titanium nuts, but I don't need to given the good quality of the stock nut. As others have mentioned, there are minor blemishes in the finish where the neck joins the body, which is to be expected at this price level. However, the rest of the finish was flawless. As others have stated, yes, this guitar is BLACK. Which I like. The tuners are solid. In fact, this guitar stays in tune better than my expensive guitars (without locking tuners). The pickups are quite good. I tend to swap out pickups on guitars, but after tweaking the pickup and pole-piece heights I got the tone and individual string articulation to a nice level. Not perfect, but good enough to not swap them out for something more expensive. The neck is very playable. I find the neck shape to be comfortable. Bottom line, for the price this guitar is an outstanding value in terms of quality, appearance, playability and tone.

IYV 6 String IP-350 TBK PRS Solid-Body Electric Guitar, Trans Black
Hello everyone. First of all, let us get this out of the way. When someone purchases a guitar (whether it is used, refurbished, displayed model, with minor imperfection, or a new one) at some point you are going to set the action, set the intonation, treat the fret board, file the fret ends, replace/modify the knobs/switches/bridge/strings/pickups/neck/etc. to your preference. It is no difference when you buy your vehicle. Eventually, you are going to change/add/replace/modify items on your vehicle to your liking. And that is fine. With that said, please do not count these components as a negative criticism towards these guitars. Let us just focus on the guitar itself. With minor tuning and neck adjustments, these guitars are ready to play right out of the box. As you know, minor tuning and neck adjustments are common with any guitar you purchase. The finish, quality, and construction of these guitars are awesome. The headstock is eye-catching. The neck is straight. The frets do not have dents/divots and are smooth (no sharp edges). The fret board is fine. The body is beautiful. The joints/seems are connected to satisfactory. The hardware (pickup selector or switch/output or input jack/volume & tone knobs or controls/bridge/pickups/pick guard/tuners/electronics/screws/nuts/strap buttons/fret or inlay markers/fret nut) are nice, functional, and tight. There may be some small blemishes or cloudy finishes here and there, fret board might have some kind of dye on it, but nothing really significant that would cause you NOT to play the guitar immediately. I’ve made NO modifications or changed any components on this guitar and had no major issue with feedback noise, guitar getting out of tune from hours of play, components getting loose or not working, breaking strings, electrical issues, etc. Again, everyone has their option on what they consider feedback, guitar out of tune, components getting loose or not working, breaking strings, electrical issues, etc. And that is okay. It also varies on the equipment (amps/stacks/pedals/cables/etc.) you use and how you play these guitars. In conclusion, these guitars are attractive, feel great, look fabulous, sound terrific, entice you to play them and definitely fun to play. I’m sold and I’m a HUGE fan of the IYV Guitars! I wished I could have purchased the earlier models when they first came out. If I had the money, I would buy all the IYV models. For an electric guitar under $200.00 and with no shipping fees, these guitars are an excellent investment! I will say it again. Not only are these guitars gorgeous, but they are also a pleasure to play. I hope IYV will continue to produce new models or have older models available because I am excited in purchasing them in the future. Thank you IYV Guitar company/staff for producing this magnificent product!

Looks great, but for me it did not work out.
I received the guitar and it looked good overall, just a couple blemishes. Not expecting perfection for an inexpensive guitar. The setup was okay, I did need to adjust the pickup height for the neck pickup as it was terribly low, and the bridge pickup was tilted back so the posts were actually facing the bridge. Overall things that can be fixed, and again it’s a $150 guitar.. not expecting perfection. I did end up returning the unit though. There was nothing functionally wrong, it was just uncomfortable for me to play and I did not like the neck at all. I typically play sitting down with the guitar rest on my left thigh, and it was difficult for me to rest my right arm on the body (picking arm) without the body digging into my arm. With the neck, my goodness did I not like it. It’s very much a baseball bat, which personally I can’t stand. The black paint is also very sticky. It’s a beautiful guitar for the price, that may need some work when it arrives or it may not. For me though, it was not comfortable to play at all.

Incredible value for an amazingly well built instrument
I've been playing for a quite a while professionally in live and studio environments but took some time off and sold everything about 2 years ago. I recently decided to pick things back up and do some home recording to build my chops back up. I have a main guitar but wanted to a hardtail HH guitar and found the IYV. After reading the reviews, I pulled the trigger and received the guitar a few days later. The box was a little damaged upon arrival but no damage to the guitar. Out of the box, it needed minor work... Frets needed light filing/sanding, fretboard needed some lemon juice, strings needed to be changed and the intonation needed minor adjustments. (Side note - I think all guitarist should learn how to set up their guitar as it will save you thousands, you'll be able to set up the guitar exactly the way you like it for your particular style and approach and you'll have a better understanding of your instrument.) I'm very impressed with this guitar, regardless of the price. Sounds great and plays very well, smooth and well balanced across the neck and pick up configuration. It's a fraction of the cost of a real PRS and you could easily get an IYV Strat, LP, and Tele for the price of one name brand axe. From the other reviews I've read on those guitars, I think that's the route I'm going to go. Once you reach a certain point in your playing, you can make any decent guitar sound great and if you have the luthier skills to set up your guitar, you can make it just as easy to play as a Suhr or any custom shop Fender or Gibson. It's easy to get caught up with G.A.S. but honestly, save your money and put more time into learning how to set up your guitar, upgrade parts and practice more and you'll be a better well rounded guitarist. Play because you love music, not because you want the latest and greatest gear to appear like you're a pro. Nothing worse than when a guy shows up to a jam or gig with great gear but sounds like their fingers are broken.

Great and beautiful guitar for the price.
This IYV IP-350 is an incredible value for under $240. The finish looks great and uncommon. Although, you can tell it’s not an expensive guitar finish, there are no particular flaws or defects. If you know how to do final polish, you can make this guitar really shine. I like the scale length, right in the middle of Fender & Gibson. The neck is probably my favorite part other than the overall look of the guitar. It’s pretty thick, not vintage Gibson baseball bat thick, but certainly not a slim taper that is the bane of my guitar shopping as I have fairly large hands. It was very much playable as is. The neck width is pretty much in line with Gibson/Epiphone measuring 43.63mm at the nut, which is only 0.02mm narrower than my Gibson Les Paul. The strings were even worse than most inexpensive guitars. If there is a place to cheap out on a guitar it’s strings, pickups, and tuning gears since that is what most guitar players are likely to change at some point whether it’s needed or not lol. The hardware is pretty good, the pickups actually sound great for clean or light overdrive, but are quite microphonic at high gain overdrive/distortion. As I mentioned before, no big deal, they do the job and are easy to replace later. Overall great guitar for the price, good for beginners (though this may vary depending which one you get), but especially good for experienced players that can do basic work on guitars and just want another style, color, scale length, pickup configuration, etc…like we really need an excuse to get a new guitar right!

cool guitar, but wiring/pickups died after 10 months.
cool guitar except for the pick ups and wiring, after 10 months the pick ups completely stopped working. when i first picked the guitar the pick ups didn't work when i leaned the guitar a certain way so its definitely some wiring issues.

A must buy for everyone's collection
The playability at this price point is just superb. Yes, the electronic hardware, tuners and action can be improved but these are easily tweaked/replaced. Very happy that they put most of the effort into the neck and alignment giving us a superb playing guitar (also the hardest to fix). In summary, this is an excellent playing and sounding guitar which i'd happily go live with. Those that demand cosmetic perfection for the price point are dreaming and misplaced.

This is a serious guitar.
Mine was 99% perfect, with a slight imperfection on the side of the fretboard that I can barely see with a magnifying glass. Action and intonation was great (I had changed the strings to 9-42 so naturally I had to slightly readjust the intonation). The pick-ups on this guitar are very impressive. They are darker and warmer sounding and not thin and bright. I knew this before purchasing and is the main reason why I took a chance. The output is also a little lower - which I prefer. In the same humbucker positions, my other guitar (famous brand) was leaner and slightly colder. Mine was not the greenish one like on the photo, nor was it black. It has a dark bronze or copper tint to it. It looks, plays and sounds wonderful.
