Greenworks 40v 8" Pole saw & Hedge Trimmer
I was impressed with the quality of this product. The chainsaw is well made and very sturdy. The hedge trimmer is heavier than I would like it to be, but workable. In order to get the right height you have to assemble extensions. My old electric pole chainsaw you just unscrewed the attachment and raise and lower to the height that you needed which to me was easier. The pole assembly is well made and not flimsy. It should last I hope.

Great product
This is a quality tool. I used both the hedger and saw on my first day and it performed well. It is heavy as I had read in other reviews, but it is manageable.

Pole saws great works good hedger heavy as hell an only work so so
Bought the green works 40 volt 8” pole saw an hedger combo after much research seem to have the best reviews before u get into there really high dollar ones just spent 5 hours using it battery held up great only went down one notch the whole 5 hours pole saw I’d give a five not to heavy cut small limb like butter at 4 inch limbs it began to kick a little so 4 “ is about its max the 6” I think it could do be stretching it now the pole saw I said I’d rate a five an the battery BUT the hedger attachment not so much sprayed the blade good with WD 40 as I heard they were bad to jamb if u didn’t it’s heavy as hell fully extended an the 1” branches jamb so I’d say 1/4” bought all it do maybe a shoulder strap help the weight did like the adjustable head but due to weight an not cutting larger as advertised I’d give the hedger a3 . Also haven’t had trouble with pole saw leaking oil yet standing it up as recommended so over all wish I’d just bought the pole saw an shopped else where for a hedger

Long battery charge and charges quickly.
Battery charge lasts as long as I can trim in a day. Good power trimmer. I haven't use chain saw adapter yet but looks well made and good for larger branches.

Buyers be aware - GreenWorks warranty is a scam
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I had bought a unit back in 2021, and it worked fine. I bought the combo, for the trimmer, and gave away my 2021 pole saw to my brother. The new 8 inch pole saw worked fine for the first few times, but then started to smoke rather than cut! Meanwhile I misplaced my charge, bought a compatible one, charged the battery, same issue with the pole saw, while the hedge trimmer works fine. Reached out to support. They requested some information (receipt, serial number, model #). But then they went dark for almost 3 weeks, no further communication, even my follow-up emails went unanswered. So, I called them again today. The response was: Warranty is void because you used a compatible charger! I explained that: 1- The pole saw issue happened BEFORE the original charger was misplaced! 2- I am an electrical engineer, the charge is compatible (same voltage, and amperage) & the trimmer works fine with the same battery. The support rep. stood by the party line: Warranty is void. Lesson learned: Buy from a reputable company. All my power tools are Milwaukee, and they are just awesome & reliable! I have never, in 7 years of owning and using them even had to reach to support.

Chainsaw was a nice bonus
I had the first version of the Greenworks pole hedge trimmer, but it broke -- motor runs, gearbox moved the blades, but the pinon gear either broke or spins free on the motor shaft. Disappointing that a company named "Greenworks" would have no replacement parts available for sale, so mine ended up in a land fill for lack of a trivial replacement part (either the pinon gear or the motor) This one is not as "adjustable" as the older model but it should make it stronger overall, it has a longer reach and is a good bit heavier but no other tool can get all our hedges while staying on our property. The pole saw attachment is a nice feature and has a longer reach than the corded one I've used for years. Not dragging around an extension cord is wonderful, my neighbor who borrows my corded pole say a couple of times a year was happy to take my old one.

Solid Cordless Combo for Routine Yard Maintenance, With Some Weight Tradeoffs
I picked up this Greenworks 40V 8" Pole Saw and Pole Hedge combo to handle routine trimming around my property—mainly shaping shrubs along the driveway and cutting back lower tree limbs that were starting to hang over the yard. For general maintenance tasks, it performs well and eliminates the need to drag out gas-powered equipment for smaller jobs. The pole saw has enough cutting power for modest branches, and the hedge trimmer attachment makes it easy to square up taller hedges without balancing on a ladder. The 40V platform provides adequate runtime with the included 2.0Ah battery for light to moderate trimming sessions. It’s noticeably quieter and cleaner than gas tools, and I appreciate not dealing with fuel mixing or pull starts. Assembly is straightforward, and switching between attachments doesn’t take long once you’ve done it once or twice. For homeowners maintaining average-sized landscaping, it’s a practical setup. The reason this isn’t a 5-star rating is the weight and balance when fully extended. Overhead work can become tiring fairly quickly, especially when reaching higher limbs. The 2.0Ah battery also limits longer work sessions; if you have a larger property, a higher-capacity battery would likely be necessary. That said, for typical seasonal trimming and yard upkeep, it’s a capable and convenient tool that fits well within a cordless system.
