CircleCord NEMA 10-30P to 14-50R EV Charger Adapter Cord

Perfect product for use with Tesla charger! Works great!

This CircleCord EV Charger Adapter is exactly what I needed to charge my Tesla using my existing dryer outlet. The build quality is excellent, and the ETL listing gives me peace of mind regarding safety. It fits securely into the NEMA 10-30P outlet, and the 14-50R connector works perfectly with my mobile connector. It handles the 30 Amp load without any issues or overheating. A very cost-effective way to get Level 2 charging without expensive electrical work!

Working well so far! Great for those of us with these older houses (and older dryer outlets). As instructed - MAKE SURE NOT TO PULL MORE THAN 24 AMPS!!! That's what will cause the melted plugs you see in other reviews - charged for about 1.5 hours last night and nothing was even warm to the touch - even the metal prongs from the wall side were maybe 100-110 degrees after I unplugged. Saving us a few hundred dollars from needing to upgrade the outlet and a couple thousand from installing a dedicated charger with wiring, so no complaints here! 25% charge now takes 4 hours instead of 16.

I bought this as well as the splitter from the same company. Both were superior quality & well built. This item converted my older dryer plug to the newer type. It worked perfectly allowing me to split the dryer plug & covert the old plug to a new version. This was exactly what I needed. I now can use 220 volts instead of 120 volts to charge my eV. Instead of only getting 5 miles per hour of charging using a standard wall plug, I now get 32 miles per hour of charging.

Works as expected. Only one end has grips to aid in extraction, but not a deal breaker.

I am leaving a 1-star review so that if you're reading the 1-star reviews, hopefully you'll see this one. Ignore the 1-star reviews describing how this adapter almost killed them, burnt their house down, led to divorce, fathered illegitimate children, etc. The reason that those reviewers are having an issue is because they are not dialing-back their charging rate (aka the amperage) and are trying to pull more than 30 amps through this adapter. However, if you're charging on a 30-amp circuit, you should dial back to 24 amps (20% less than the rated amperage). A word to the hopefully now wiser, if you can't dial back your charging rate (in-vehicle or in-app), don't buy this adapter. Finally, if your breaker isn't tripping when you try to pull 50 amps through a 30-amp circuit, call your electrician!!! Duh.

If you have a house built before 2000, you probably have a 3 prong dryer outlet. I do, and I also have an EV that needs charging. The first thing was to get this adapter for my EV plug. It fits perfectly going from the old sryle 10-30 plug to the new 14-50 plug. It works seamlessly! This adapter is very well made. The cable is heavy gauge to send all those amps to your car. The big gauge wire prevents the adapter from overheating, and melting. Another good feature about this adapter is that it isn't all black wiring. The end are a nice blue to make it easy to see. The best feature? It is plug and play. Other adapters are plug in, but they also come with an extra ground wire that you have to attach somewhere. Easy peasy! It is a fantastic value as you don't have to hire an electrician to do your install.
