Is this Kona coffee; not a blend?

I have the Na Pali Coast Dark Roast single-serve pods, and they are arabica beans that are 20% "sourced from our Koloa Estate in Kauai, Hawaii."  In short, it's Kauai coffee, not Kona coffee, and like most Hawaii coffees, it's a blend of beans grown there and beans grown elsewhere.  P.S.  Kona coffee is arabica beans that are grown in Kona (on the big island, not the island of Kauai), and again it is often also a blend.  You can get 100% Kona, but it's quite pricey.

Question 2

Is this a dark bold roast for really bold taste or a milder version of that? Needs to be a very deep dark bold roast for a family member gift

This is not an intense coffee by any means. It doesn't have the complex notes you might find with Peet's Major Dickason's Blend, which has lots of smoke and chocolate. This tastes full and rich, but not as deep as some dark roasts. It has neither acidic nor smoky notes to it. It's really quite lovely, actually. It comes across to me as between a medium roast and a dark, bold roast. Perhaps it's a bit more akin to Green Mountain's Dark Magic. On a dark and bold scale from 1-10, with 10 being espresso-like, I'd give this a 7.5 or 8.

Are these compatible with original Keurig machines - or only the 2.0? We have the Keurig Elite.  Thank you!

Yes, it is 100% compatible with both the Keurig 2.0 AND the Keurig 1.0 machines. Your Elite K45 will accept these with zero issues. For those concerned about 2.0 compatibility, I have a K250 an it works great! You do NOT need anything special - this is a licensed pod made in collaboration with Keurig. It has the iridescent lid that is "read" by the sensor in the Keurig. When used in an older machine, the special lid makes no difference other than it won't have the enhanced brewing capabilities of the 2.0 brewers. But your coffee will turn out just the same as the older K-cups! I hope that I provided the answer you were looking for!

The kauai garden isle pods do not ship to california.  does anyone know why?  i purchased them from amazon in the past and received in calif.

I'm pretty sure it's a mistake.  I got the message that the 12 and 20 count medium roast could not be shipped to California, but was able to order a 48 count.
