Will this clamp open wide enough for a computer monitor?

It will fit a slim flat screen or laptop, but the plastic clamp will scratch/rattle about. The clip has ridges to squeeze a surface and hold firmly. It's definitely designed for gripping fabric covered or slightly plush sun visors.

will this clip onto my rearview mirror?

There's no rubber on the clip itself so it'll probably just fall right off.. It's made for the sun visor, but I put mine on the headliner roof bit.. Where the window meets the roof..

Does this view the middle seat?

Yes. I use it solely for my middle seat . Its perfect that it’s adjustable so if you move your visor you can adjust your view!
