Clearly Natural Essentials Glycerin Bar Soap, Unscented, 4 Ounce, Pack of 12 (Packaging May Vary)

Clearly Natural Glycerin Bar Soap Unscented was recommended to me by a dermatologist and is probably the best soap ever for people with sensitive skin, eczema, dry skin, etc. This review applies ONLY to the UNSCENTED version. This is about as plain a soap as you can buy. Read the ingredients. The only ingredients are glycerin. 3 different surfactants (a substance that lifts the dirt from your skin and mixes it with the glycerin so it can be rinsed away). And a humectant (seals moisture in after you wash). That is it. What is equally (or more) important is what is not in it. No fragrances. No dyes. No sodium lauryl sulfate. No sodium laureth sulfate, 2 substances usually found in soap that create a rich lather but don't make you any cleaner, plus they dry the skin. No parabens, a preservative that also dries the skin and can be a skin irritant for some people. The soap itself is an odd translucent yellow color (no dyes). The soap itself has a peculiar mild odor that is hard to describe, but it leaves no odor whatsoever on your skin (no fragrances). It creates very little lather. People think a rich lather makes you clean but the truth is it doesn't. Other soap manufacturers put things like sodium lauryl sulfate into their soap which creates a thick lather and makes people think it is making them cleaner. It does nothing but dry your skin. The first week you use Clearly Natural Unscented you may feel what seems like a residue on your skin after washing but this is just the soap holding moisture into your skin, which feels funny if you are used to using the chemical laden grocery store soaps. After a week you will not notice it anymore. The bar is a little small but seems to last longer than larger bars. Just keep it dry when not using, not sitting in water in a soap dish. It is hard to find in regular stores and if you do find it, it is outrageously expensive. Here on amazon I buy the 12 pack usually for $15-$20. A great deal.

Is exactly what it says at the top of the description !12 full 4-ounce bars, individually wrapped, NOT one 12-ounce bar as it says further down in the description! A very good buy! The individual plastic wrap is a little hard to peel off (I use a knife!) but it's worth the trouble! This soap is very easy on my skin preventing itch, dryness, and flaking as it has the same active ingredient as O'Keeffe's Working Hands hand cream (glycerin). On the minus side, it does not rinse off as well as other more caustic soaps, and it does not foam up like soaps with foaming chemicals. It leaves my skin smooth, soft, and perfume free, so I have been able to stop using ketoconazole for my skin condition though I still use Working Hands, on occasion. Just keep it out of your eyes and rinse them thoroughly! Good stuff at a very good discounted12 pack price! FIX THE LOWER DESCRIPTION! CONFUSING SCARY TYPO! I actually had to verify this before I bought it! Almost didn't!

I use this as a pre-shave soap to soften hair on face and scalp. Due to the high glycerin content, it does not lather well but if does moisturize my skin and soften beard hair. It is very slick and improves the quality of my face and head shaving. It is basically unscented, it does have a faint smell but it isn’t unpleasant. If you want a rich lathering soap this is not for you but it serves my purpose very well. The cost Amazon is the best I’ve found. Very economical.

I’m on my first bars of the Vitamin E and Unscented. I like them but they seem a little softer than the glycerin soap I’m used to - the Whole Foods Vitamin E soap. They definitely require a good draining soap dish. We’ve also used Pears and Neutrogena in the past. Pears has too much fragrance and we found we just prefer the Whole Foods over everything else for the last 15 years or so. That said, it’s inexplicably not usually available on Amazon and they are often out of stock at stores. So, I decided to revisit the whole soap thing. The Clearly Natural Essentials soaps are excellent and clean but I still think I prefer the Whole Foods ones overall. Although the fragrance free one from Clearly Natural Essentials is truly fragrance free - the only one I have ever found from any brand that really is! Aside from being softer, my only other criticism of the Clearly Natural Essentials soaps is a lack of lather. I don’t mean not as much, I mean no lather at all. That said, the soap still does a good job and I’d be satisfied if the Whole Foods soaps didn’t exist, or if I needed completely fragrance free.

This is very good glycerin soap. I used to use Neutrogena glycerin soap, but it made my skin a little dry. It also stings my eyes really bad, when it gets into my eyes. But not for this Clearly Natural soap. It cleans well, and keeps skin soft and moisturerized. When I look at ingredients, I do not see some strange chemical items, as in the case of neutrogena soaps. Compared to regular soaps, it does not have lots of foaming, but what I read is that foaming is caused by adding chemicals like SDS and SLES; While high foam can be a marketing tool and is often associated with cleanliness, lower-foam options can be gentler on the skin and provide a more concentrated cleaning experience.

Soap is excellent, lathers well, appreciate that it’s gentle/healthy for skin. However, the odor is almost overpowering and is akin to what you’d expect in a scented soap for men, or even a men’s cologne. The only positive is that the scent does not linger too badly on your skin after use, but it doesn’t disappear (unfortunately). I like this brand and the overall quality of the soap, but I will not be buying the Vitamin E bars again. The scent is just too heavy/too much like cologne. It would be good if the manufacturer would acknowledge this in the description. I would not have purchased this set if I knew the Vitamin E line had a such a strong cologne-like odor.

Gentle glycerine soap with a nice light scent.

Not of good quality. It does not foam and it becomes soft and mushy. Also, really no smell.

The description says "Clearly Natural Glycerin Bar Soap, Unscented, 4oz Bar, Pack of 6". I ordered a pack of 6 and received just 1 soap. I paid $28.00 for just 1 bar of soap. I contacted the seller to return the item. The soap alone is excellent for sensitive skin. I have been using this soap for quite some time. It's unscented, it doesn't lather much and doesn't dry out sensitive skin.

Lovely soap. I wash my hands a lot and this doesn't dry them out as much as the normal pump type soaps you get in the shops.
