Will this darken my leather?

Yes, Huberd's will darken most leather, sometimes significantly. Most items will lighten some after a few days once the grease has fully penetrated. Always test on a small hidden area first.

Can I use this on suede or nubuck?

Huberd's is not suitable for suede as it is a fragile leather than can rip or tear if over conditioned. You can use Huberd's on nubuck, but it will flatten the "fuzz". You may be able to brush some of the texture back after treatment

How often should I apply it?

Your leather will tell you when it needs more. It will start to look dry or absorb surface water. Once or twice a season is sufficient for most users. More frequently for leather exposed to regular outdoor weather, salt water, or heavy use.

Does it have a smell?

Yes, a natural, earthy scent from the pine tar and beeswax. No harsh chemical odor. Most people describe the smell as "campfire" or "smoke". The scent fades after the product dries.

How much do I need per application?

A little goes a long way. A 7.5 oz can will treat a pair of boots many times over. Start with a small amount and work up as needed.
