Folds just enough to clear door frames!
I purchased a second Drive Nitro rollator to supplement the Heavy Duty one I have had for 3 years because the door frame to my apartment's bathroom is 23" and to the bedroom is 25". While I could tug the handle on the seat of the HD model and draw in the sides somewhat, it made it more difficult to maneuver and much less secure for my current needs. The rear wheels on the standard Drive Nitro *just* make it through the 23" doorway into the bathroom with the door itself removed. And the Drive cup holder that I clamped to the right side does not fold flush, but does so enough so that it doesn't extend past the wheelbase and get caught on the door frame. Because it's definitely not designed to be slipped off and on.It clamps on securely enough to hold the 24 oz blender bottle I use for my water because of the secure lid, and the opening is just large enough to hold it securely without forcing the cup into the holder. Better yet, there's a small side slit in the cup holder that makes it easy for me to slide my largish cell phone into the holder so that it's always within reach as I move around the apartment. Probably not what it was designed for, but it's the use I put it to most often. It's sturdy enough that I don't worry it will snap or crack if I do have it fully extended and navigate poorly, accidentally catching it on a door frame or cabinet, but it's usually tucked towards the frame in a way that keeps it within the wheelbase and reasonably safe from random bumps. I hesitated to purchase it because I had read poor reviews about the cup holder several years ago, but it definitely seems as if improvements have been made since then. This is not an expensive add-on for your rollator, and well worth the price.

OK in concept; poor in execution
This device is designed to fit the unique frame profile of the Drive Nitro rollator, which is, by itself, is a great product. This cup holder is quite a different story. It clips onto any vertical segment of the frae, staying put by friction. The holder can be moved around by simply applying some pressure to one of the arms of the clip and easing it off the frame. Once relocated, it stays put.The device is designed to allow the holder and the drink (bottle, glass, small cup) to (1) be swivelled horizontally forward, sideways, or backward into a position accessible to the user. This feature works OK.The device is also intended to allow the holder basket to swing in a roughly vertical plane so that the drink itself says vertical and therefore does not spill its contents. HOWEVER, the design of this feature is faulty - a FAIL in a pass/fail grading system. The failure occurs for a single reason - the swivel mechanism is flimsy plastic. To tighten up the rotation (I.e., to "lock" the basket into a steady position in which the cup doesn't relocate itself because of its weight), one must tighten a screw accessible from the frame side of the device. It's impossible to tighten it enough to prevent rotation, so the full drink rotates and cfalls out of the holders basket and dumps on the ground. Attempts by me to solve the issue by adding a lock-washer led to my previous use of the word "flimsy.". Tightening the screw to clench the lock-washer resulted in the screw-head pulling all the way through the clip. That was that for the entire assembly. And all of this destruction was accomplished solely with common hand tools. In summary, this device would have gotten FOUR STARS if the mechanism hadn't let me down. And it would have received FIVE STARS if the basket was a bit larger in diameter. But I still love the my Drive Nitro rollator, a device I've previously reviewed.UPDATE. I noticed another comment on this product citing the same criticisms I had. I finally decided to enact the "kill-or-cure" approach. I disassembled (hex key tool) the frame clip from the cup basket, applied a thin coating of Gorilla Glue to both of the mating surfaces, and re-assembled the two parts. The clamping force of the screw held the surfaces in close contact while the glue dried. HINT: get a good idea what angle you want the basket to be re: the ground, because once the glue sets, that's the angle it will be at unless it breaks or goes into a recycling bin. It solved my problem with it, but as the product ships, it's still a ONE STAR device.

Stylish Nitro Rollator disappoints with substandard necessary equipment.
This is the only cup holder I have found that will fit the oval shape of the metal tubing on the Nitro Rollater. It is not strong, will not safely hold a large drink cup, & to remove the holder the entire base that has to be forced onto & off of the tubing. The cup holder can’t be removed from the base & reattached. I am on my second one, the cup holder was popped of the base during travel. I have not found a way to reattach cup holder to base.Such a great looking rollator. Easy to roll off of pavement. Worth the extra money.Too bad the cup holder is on the opposite end of style, And a real joke at reliability. The base needs to redesigned using a base with a knob that tightens. Pick the cup design from one of the better designs already available. Large enough to safely hold the large cups. Cup should also be able to disconnect from base.I also bought the cane holder that should work on the Nitro. It will only hold a round cane with very small diameter. No flexibility on size. Another expensive failure.Love my Nitro. Too bad it is an incomplete package.Lynda Collier
