Favorite brand of Allulose
I have tried many other Allulose sweeteners. I use it for baking when the recipe calls for powdered sweetener. Of all the Allulose brands Iโve tried, this is my favorite. It is a consistent powder consistency, has no clumps unlike other brands, and has predictable sweetness of Allulose. It is also the most affordable per ounce. A few things to note about pure Allulose: -It has almost no bitter aftertaste like other alternative sweeteners (ie. stevia and erythritol) -it closely mimics the mouthfeel, bulk, and caramelization properties of real sugar, although I find it does burn quicker than real sugar -it is only about 70% as sweet as table sugar, so you may need to use more to achieve desired sweetness (1 cup of table sugar to 1 1/3 cup of Allulose) -has a glycemic index of 0 and has about 90% less calories than table sugar

Great sugar substitute
For Type 2 diabetic patients this might be a game changer for HbA1c maintenance. More expensive than what is currently on the market but the medical benefits on glycemic index and lack of aftertaste is worth trying this sugar substitute.

Great sugar sub. Not a sugar alcohol. No aftertaste or GI upset
Glad to get this big size. I use a lot of allulose: coffee, cereal, baking, on fruit and yogurt. My blood sugar has been lower now that I'm using this. Also, no stomach upset. I will say it acts differently in baking. You have to bake at a lower temperature. For example 300-325 vs 350 or things will burn. And you may need to use it with other sweeteners like regular sugar, erythritol(some studies say it may lead to blood clots or heart issues) or xylitol(only if you don't have dogs, xylitol is fatal to dogs).Otherwise your baked goods will not be crispy. They'll be soft. I made sugar free maple and chocolate syrup with it. Allulose is not a sugar alcohol and has been found to be safe. I haven't had any stomach or intestinal issues with it. No aftertaste.

Does not taste "just like sugar", as some sites claim.
First of all this review isn't exactly about Micro Ingredients Allulose, as much as just about things I had heard and have found out about allulose itself. I think this product is as good or better than most of the Allulose products you will find out there. First of all, the claim that it tastes just like sugar doesn't hold true for me or my family. It doesn't have the aftertaste that a lot of sugar alternatives do but it also doesn't have the same sweetness and effect on the tongue that regular sugar does. I might be able to get used to it over time but it is certainly not something you can just replace sugar with and have the same taste and sensations and not know the difference. I also found out through research that almost all allulose products are corn derived sugar then treated with enzymes. This can be problematic if you have someone who has allergies or sensitivities to corn. I couldn't find anything definitively as to whether Micro Ingredients version is made from corn but they don't have the no corn logo that they have on some products on this product, and the list of "Free of" also does not list corn. This would lead me to believe this Micro Ingredient Allulose is a corn derivative. I also read claims that it is 70% as sweet as regular sugar and you just need to add a third more to whatever you're making to make it as sweet as sugar. Trying this, I still didn't find it as sweet as sugar but we also found out that we can't even use as much as we would of sugar for our family or it causes digestive discomfort and in some cases diarrhea. It is also more of the consistency of powdered sugar then of granulated sugar, so it's a little harder to get a one-on-one measurement when comparing it to granulated sugar. It might actually be a pretty close replacement to powdered sugar if you want to try it in any recipes calling for powdered sugar. Some of the sugar alternatives we have tried don't dissolve well in liquids but we tried this in lemonade and in herbal teas and since it's kind of a powdered sugar consistency it dissolved almost instantly. Overall it is probably one of the better sugar substitutes I have found, probably because it is just sugar derived from corn and then treated with an enzyme that takes the element out that's spikes blood sugar, and it doesn't leave an odd after taste in your mouth like a lot of sugar substitutes do. But saying that it's "just like regular sugar" is a bit of a stretch.

Best Sweetener
This is great for your gut health and insulin levels. It tastes exactly like sugar. Just use twice as much as you normally would sugar and you won't tell the difference. I use it on cinnamon raisin toast with butter and Ceylon cinnamon. I scoop it onto grapefruit. I sweeten things like cookies and donuts if I feel like baking them. But there's the rub, you have to work to enjoy the sweetness. That way, you won't get addicted! So, don't wait until everybody climbs onto the gravy train. Take stock in your health now. We all know that sugar is one of the best things that you can put in your body if you want to die young. Do you? Allulose is one of the best things that you can ever put in your body if you want to live a full healthy life. Act now.

Sweet like sugarโฆ requires an adjustment period
I love this stuff, but there are some things to consider. I love all the benefits (research it) and that it tastes like sugar with no aftertaste, but I do agree with other reviewers that it takes quite a bit more than one would expect in order to achieve the desired sweetness. With that being said, yes, start SLOWLY. It just may have you running the bathroom as youโre getting used to itโฆ no pain but trust NOTHING starting out (you know what I mean). My experience has been that you develop a tolerance to it as you use it constantly. I stopped using it for awhile (a few weeks) because I got out of my normal routine so using it again was from square one. I have not cooked with itโฆ I mainly just use it for iced coffee (it mixes in perfectly) and to sweeten my berries and cream. Itโs just delightful, but stay close to home in the beginning until you can trust your gutโฆ pun intended. ๐

Zero sweetness and zero pH change.
So I typically use stevia which is also natural. I have no issue with it other than sometimes it is pricy. I tend to use 3 packets in a liter or 2 packets in a 16 oz coffee. With coffee itโs primary function is about neutralizing the pH, but the sweetness is nice So this product does nothing. I started with 2 packs as usual in my coffee, and nothing, I thought maybe it doesnโt dissolve the same so I gave it a stir โnope! I added 2 more packs, stirred and still no change. I was determined to find out what would neutralize the acid and add that touch of sweet so I kept adding packs and stirring, after 16 packs and no acid change I gave up and made another cup of coffee and used my 2 stevia packs. Being a scientific person I pulled out my pH test strips and tested each cup to make sure I wasnโt just going on taste alone. I tested the pH of a standard cup, the allulose with 16 packets, and the steva with 2 packets. The standard and allulose were exactly the same and the stevia was right in the middle! So in conclusion it wasnโt my imagination it really did nothing.

I like it but....
As a Type 2 Diabetic, I have been using Stevia for years. I was willing to give this a try as I do like Stevia's and alot of other artificial sweeteners aftertaste. I do like that Allulose does not have an aftertaste and it dissolves very easily. One of the best benefits is that it does not upset my stomach as with some other sweeteners. I would love to give this a 5 star rating because of the benefits so far but the three drawbacks I experienced are 1. The packets are tough to rip open, most of them I had to cut with scissors 2. I usually have to use 2-3 packets of any sweeteners to get the desired sweetness. However, I had use 8-10 packets to get the same amount of sweetness. At that rate, I would need to buy a 300 count bag every month! A Stevia box lasts me 2 - 2.5 months. 3. Some of the packets had clumps in it. Nitpicking a bit but I do not have that problem with other sweeteners that often. I wish we could give half stars because I think it would be 3.5 stars.

Allulose
Looks, feels and tastes like sugar but reading the facts about it seems that it is a healthier alternative

Better than sugar
Allulose exceeded my expectations. It doesn't have any of the after taste what other sweeteners have. Tastes like sugar without any spike in bloodsugar.
