I have tried so many different clay pomades it's getting ridiculous. I have a hard time finding the right texture I like with the hold and matte finish. This fits the bill really well. Although not perfect, it does give me everything I am looking for. As the title says, it dries quick, so you better be ready to get your hair in place. Other than that, the hold is strong, it lasts all day and the finish is matte. I like that it is not greasy and that you can set your hair and then not have to worry about it all day. It comes in a large size which will last me at least 2 months if not longer. Well worth what I paid.

I have a lot of thick heavy hair that gets wavy as it grows longer.... This clay goes in smooth when your hair is damp. It definitely gives you a matte finish, lower shine. I have noticed the more damp your hair is, more of a shine you will achieve (this higher shine won't last all day tho) but it's not like other pomades with that super high shine. For me, it is the perfect amount of a healthy shine in a product. You can also feel it hardening as you style which doesn't give you a lot of time to style BUT I like that because other hair products tend to take awhile before they dry and set and by then you have already stepped away from the mirror. The hold is definitely up to par and will last you all day and maybe into the next depending on how much product you use. You can reactivate the product with a touch of water in your palms and you are ready for a mid to late day restyling. Running your hands thru your hair after styling can be difficult but with this very high hold that is expected. Another reason why I like this product is because it is a water based clay pomade. It rinses out with ease and does not dry out your hair after a shower. Lastly, this product does not have an overpowering scent to it. Like other products I have used, this is tamed and you will not smell it off your own head. The description on the jar is spot on. I'll be buying this product again!

I decided to give this pomade a try after I ran out of the pomade I usually use and was looking to try something new. I've used it just about everyday for about 3 weeks now and I can honestly say I do not like this pomade/clay one bit. This product is thick and dries very fast. So fast to the point where you have to style your hair immediately. It becomes a bit unworkable within a few mins and the only way I found to keep it workable for longer than a min or two, is to have my hair wet or damp first. BUT that defeats the whole point of a MATTE pomade/clay as it will add shine to your hair. I prefer not to have shine in my hair, hence why I buy matte pomades. The next problem I found was it flakes up extremely bad. Again, it dries/sets so fast, it will start to flake up on me as I am still styling it and it will get even worse as the day goes on. I am not a person who is constantly touching or messing with my hair, I style it in the morning and leave it all day but I find that it continues to flake up even without being touched. My shoulders are covered in flakes and it looks like I have extremely bad dandruff. And no I do not have dandruff/dry scalp. The only time I have flakes is when I use this product. Lastly, this product does not have a lasting hold. You would think with how fast and firm it sets within minutes that it would have a lasting hold, but thats not the case. I find that it loses 60-70% of its hold within 4-5 hours. After just a few hours, the pomade loses most of its hold and my hair starts to fall flat. This pomade sets too fast, it's unmanageable, It flakes, and it can't keep its hold for more than a few hours. This product just does not work for me.

This isn't the best hair product, but it is certainly very good. I have tried a lot of hair clay products, and this is one of the few with that nice tug to it when you put it in your hair. I have medium length hair, so it works relatively well. Smell is nice and neutral also. Recommended.

I first tried Meteor back in the spring of 2020, and it was perfect for my hair in the HUMID florida sun. They sold out. They recently brought it back, but with a new formula (I have an email from Don Juan stating as such), and it's definitely different. Application is much more difficult. The hold is still good, but the finish is also different than the original stuff. I hope they bring that back.

I felt compelled to do what I could to get the word out about this amazing product. I've tried so many clays and other styling products over the years that I lost count--dozens and dozens of them from the most expensive to drugstore crap and everything in between. Some came close but nothing ever really worked for my fine, lifeless head of hair. Even those that were somewhat effective always had some other issue (e.g., strong obnoxious scent, hold didn't last, etc.). I did not have high hopes for this product based upon the mixed reviews, but I have to tell you that it is probably the single best hair clay I have ever tried. I developed a method that works really well for those with fine, straight hair like me: 1. Use only on slightly TOWEL DRIED hair (there has to be some moisture or it will be nearly impossible to apply). 2. Scoop a small amount and rub your hands together a couple of times (do not fully emulsify or it will be more difficult to apply into the hair). 3. Take your time distributing evenly through your hair at the roots and above, I use a hard brush or comb after applying with fingers. You may need to use several small scoops depending on hair length and desired hold. 4. Use a hard brush or comb to style hair slicked back in whatever direction you like. 5. Let it air dry that way for about 10 minutes and then use your fingers to lift it and style as desired. This method is super easy and highly effective for my type of hair and style (longer on the top with a low fade on the sides and back). Try it out and good luck!
