Works great except leaks between uses - are you really supposed to empty it each time?

Yes!  Also, detach nozzle occasionally and leave bottle part to drain. Moist and humid areas encourage unpleasant things to accumulate inside.

Do you find that it cleans your bum 100% without TP? For me it seems to clean 90% but then l still need TP to finish the job

(Unless you're in the woods,) first wipe with TP. Flush the toilet to avoid contamination of the spout. Fill the bottle (I use warm water.) Whenever you lift the bottle, hold your finger over the vent on the bottom to prevent leaking on your floor. Set the bottle in a small dish near your feet to catch leaks when you set it down again.

Question 3

Do you get up and fill it after you finish? or do you fill it before you start and then have to sit and hold your finger on the hole?

It depends on the bathroom layout. If the sink is next to toilet so I can reach while sitting, I fill it after I'm finished, and then usually fill it a second time to make sure I'm all clean. If the sink is too far to reach from the toilet, I fill it before, then I have to get up to fill it again, which sucks, but whatever. The hole on the bottom isn't supposed to leak, but I do get a slow drip from mine, but the floor is water proof, so I don't really care if there are a few drops on the floor, so I don't hold my finger on it. If I cared about a drip, I'd get a paper towel or rag to set it on for it to leak onto.

Question 4

What kind of plastic is this made of?  There should be a number or letters on the bottom.

You're right, there should be some numbers, a symbol, etc.  but I can tell you just from having one that it's something very light and pliable, because you have to be able to squeeze it, and it has virtually no odor at, even when you put warm water in it (unlike many plastic products you buy).  It just seems very non-toxic.
