Excellent piece of hardware (Updated)
Works, gives information not available in your car dashboard, it turns off after seconds from removing the ignition key on the car, turns on right away when you turn the car back on, the iPhone apps connect to it after some seconds. The GoPoint apps are adequate, but not as good as DashCmd or Harry's Lap Timer.Only issue is with Bluetooth calling with the same device: while the GoPoint BT1 is connected to the iPhone calls will get noise and interference. Ironically Bluetooth audio is NOT affected, repeat Bluetooth audio works perfectly worth the same device while connected to the GoPoint BT1. I own two iPhones and the one not connected to the BT1 doesn't get any interference.I would suggest the cable version if calls are a must and when owning a single smart phone, if not this device is perfectEdit:Using it on a car with out Bluetooth radio and a FM Stereo Bluetooth device to answer calls and listen to iPhone music and the BT1 does not cause any interference with either calls or playing music. It only interferes with the car with Bluetooth radio (oem) while answering calls, and not while playing music.Update: It's 2017, 4 years have passed, and this device is working absolutely flawlessly. With the points given by my credit card I got a free iPod Touch (the one that looks like the iPhone 5, but slimmer) and I have placed it on my dash to be part of the instruments already available. Selecting which App to use is the only difference, I chose DashCmd and I have no regrets other than having no Oil Pressure or Temperature, but that is a different subject.

Works just as I need it to.
I am happy with it and sad at the same time. First I am thrilled that it works like a charm. I use it with Harry's Lap Timer and/ or Track Addict of which both connect flawlessly and do what I need it to do... connect easy and stream my selected channels of OBDII data. It also beeps when it is active, so that is also a nice feature. I am sad as I originally had a MX WiFi unit that has been spotty at best, so a good number of runs without data. So, overall--- it is a good unit. Combined with my iPad Mini it is a good combo that non only allows me to video my runs, I am also positive that the data I want to collect with it does so every time.

Good product with limited application
This is a decent product, but as of now the application is limited. Currently, there is a limited number of apps that can utilize data. Aside from the ones by gopoint the only one out there is dashcommand, which may or may not appeal to you depending on how technical you want to get. If you are interested in the product (currently the only Bluetooth OBD adapter available for iOS) but have not purchased it, I advise you to wait a bit.

Great device, but the software is semi-useless.
Basically, what you're paying for with this product is a nice bluetooth interface to the OBD II port on your car. The fun part would be writing custom iOS apps to monitor the system in real-time, and I hoped this would at least provide some modicum of monitoring. Instead, all you get is an app that looks up trouble codes and attempts to tell you about every TSB ever issued against your make/model of car. This is something that I could do already... but hey, this was an impulse purchase that just did not work out.Update: I just returned to this review having posted a review for a different product and I wanted to update my experience with this device. Now that there is much more functionality thanks to the newer apps that let you leverage the BT1 to do more than just see OBD II codes. Also, GoPoint has been advocating another product called DashCommand ( see https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dashcommand-obd-ii-gauge-dashboards/id321293183?mt=8 ) as the ideal mechanism to capture real-time data and record it for an extra $50. I currently use a Diablosport Predator tuner for uploading/downloading tunes for my Corvette, so I will update this review again when I've had a chance to play with that product a bit more. All in all, I'd have to say that my original (two-star) review is no longer valid, and the BT1 is turning out to be a solid product.

Beware use in a Toyota
I followed directions, plugged it in and drove my 2007 Prius just 1 mile before the whole dashboard lit up with errors and the car stopped running. I removed it and had to wait a full hour before the car would start again. The next day I repeated the whole procedure. I had the car towed to the Toyota dealer and they could find nothing wrong with the car after the BT1 was removed. Needless to say I WILL NOT recommend this for anyone with a Toyota.

It does what it says - but it also causes a problem...
I would have rated this more around the 4 star area with the exception of a severe problem the device creates. On an iPhone, the device will pair and function without issue. However, if a call comes in or you make an outbound call - that's where the issue presents itself. In my case, my vehicles both use the HondaLink bluetooth handsfree system - what this means is that the iPhone will connect to the handsfree system via bluetooth and it will also connect to the GoPoint BT1 via Bluetooth. The iPhone 5 supports concurrent connections with bluetooth so this should be without issue - however, the BT1 causes interference with bluetooth resulting in garbled and choppy audio while on a call. I can also connect my iPhone to the handsfree link and any other blue tooth device (again, using 2 devices at the same time) and the call quality issue doesn't occur. This has been tested in 2 Honda Vehicles as well as a Ford system with hands free - it's also been tested on 2 iPhone 5s and the problem is easily repeatable. Unplugging the BT1 while on a call will stop the interference from occurring. GoPoint Support was clueless.More testing is needed as well as a fix.
