One happy walking man
I’m a freelance copywriter/screenwriter. I have the most sedentary job on the planet. To counter that, I walk daily between 3-5 miles. Despite maintaining that exercise pace, ever since I quit smoking I gained back about 40 pounds of the nearly 100 lbs. that I lost 6-10 years ago to cure myself of diabetes through physician-directed activity and diet modification. Yes, biology is a bitch. But the flipside is for many early diabetics it is possible to cure yourself through lifestyle modification. That's part of what makes plantar fasciitis a devil. It snuck up on me, not when I was at my heaviest, but after I’d successfully started reshedding the regained pounds.A word about plantar fasciitis. WebMD says that “the plantar fascia is the flat band of tissue (ligament) that connects your heel bone to your toes.” I say imagine how a scorpion sting would feel there whether you’re walking, sitting or especially getting out of bed first thing in the morning. If you suffer from plantar fasciitis then you don’t need to imagine it. I was gobbling 600-1200 mg of Motrin every day and it was barely taking the edge off.But it’s the socks you want to know about. I ordered two pair. My foot is a 10.5 2-4E and I’d ordered the XL sock. The minute I got them I ripped open the package and put the left sock on. The sock offers medium compression. Enough that I feel supported, but not enough to limit circulation. So, the sock is a good fit for my wide foot. Putting it on immediately knocked at least 60-70% of the pain out. Since only my left foot is affected I had the bright idea to turn the right sock inside out. It works just as well. The ZaTech sock, though sturdy, is thin enough to wear as an “undersock.” The sock’s moisture wicking is excellent. It keeps your foot feeling clean and dry.Between the sock and an arch support, I’m back nearly to my old pace with very manageable to negligible pain. Sitting, my foot used to be painful. Walking up and down stairs was agonizing and made me feel 90 years old. Not anymore. In the last week, after my 3 mi. circuit the pain diminished to the point where I’m no longer gobbling Motrin. A huge plus. I’m slowly working my way up to my old pace and distance. I’ve also started reincorporating the stretches I learned from another bout of plantar fasciitis 4 years ago. I will never be mistaken for an athlete, but I am disciplined and serious about my exercise. The Zatech compression sock has helped restore much of the joy of that workout. And to Jen, the co-founder of ZaTech. I’ve got to say, as a fellow small businessperson with decades in advertising and marketing, the personal note was a nice touch. I don’t know if it’s ZaTech’s policy to contact every buyer of their products, but her email inspired this long, detailed review. I’ve not received anything in consideration for this review. I bought it. I love it. I’m giving it my strongest endorsement.Signed, one happy walking man

Buy these socks, but it may take a couple of sizes to try out
These socks work for me. I have spent literally thousands of dollars on my feet. Custom orthotics, expensive shoes, shots, massages, and electric foot massagers. I have very bad feet---Collapsed arches/flat feet, wide feet, bad ankles, and constant battle with Plantar Fasciitis. I tried the 3/4 foot compression socks and they worked, but after a day of being on my feet, they pinched my forefoot/toes and hurt almost as much as the Plantar Fasciitis. So these are great, and I fit into an XL, as I wear an 11.5-12 standard, but now I've ordered a large and mediums to increase the compression. With a good pair of over socks, no more foot pain, arch pain, and plantar fasciitis. It is been a long time coming, after 30 plus years of foot pain. I am going to give it 4 stars only as they are too thin to wear as 1 pair of socks, especially in cleats etc.. Make them thicker, so these socks are all you need, and I will buy at least 20. Also, they are always out of stock of gray, they must sell the most, so make more. Still, best socks for my foot pain (collapsed arches/flat tires, plantar fasciitis, and ankle pain). Please make them thicker for regular shoes and especially feet. Charge more, I will buy more!!!

I will buy another XL pair. Feet over US size 10 (or wide), an XL would be difficult to put on.
I play hours of tennis each week and hike often. I was hit with plantar fasciitis about six months ago and was in agony. I tried taping using the recommended sports medicine practice but that was a big pain. I would need to re-tape a couple times a day. These socks have been a game saver. YES they are very tight. Yes, they take a bit longer to get on, but if you can get past that, they are worth it.Recommendation: these are thin, so I thought I would use them under my normal cushioned sports socks. Turned out to not be such a good idea. It was enough to make my feet feel like they were in a vice grip after an hour. If you do want to wear under regular socks, you may want to consider another half shoe size up.I also bought these socks along with another brand that was more of a tube (didn’t cover the toes). These ZaTech worked much better as the tube type would rub on the outside of the foot by the small toe.I wear a size 9.5 shoe and purchased the XL. If you’re over US size 10 or wide, I wouldn’t recommend.

The size changed-now too large
I bought these socks several months ago, primarily for ankle compression, and I thought they were great. They felt snug, but still comfortable. I recently decided to purchase additional pairs, and they were significantly larger. You can see from the photo how much larger the new socks were than the previous ones. My feet are very small (Ladies US 6N running shoe), and I am always dubious when something claims to be "small," but the original ones I bought were a great fit. I returned the new socks and was quite disappointed as there's no "extra small" size I can buy instead. The new socks were comfortable, but I felt NO compression whatsoever since they are too big for the intended purpose. A real let-down.
