Useful piece of equipment
I purchased this based on some reviews and it lived up to expectations. It is very easy to use, giving clear test results. I am not a professional user so this device will only be used occasionally, but certainly worth having to carry out periodic checks that might preempt a catastrophic failure.I think it is good value for money.

TOP Piece of Kit TOPDON!
What an excellent bit of kit for the garage. TOPDON you did it again. Easy to use. No need for batteries, well of course the one you are testing I suppose. As described and now fits nicely in a container I purchased recently. Check out other reviews. Would highly recommend if you have a battery that has gone flat and want to know if it's worth recharging for the next few months after and pulling your hair out each week wondering why it has gone flat again. We have all been there. Me; never again!

Battery grips just a bit too small
It tests what you need to know but I had difficulty getting a decent connection on the battery (Qashqai Tekna) because the grips were a bit on the small side. I have a relatively new battery but because I have not been driving it very much the battery has become unreliable. I needed to know if the battery was defective as it was still under guarantee. The Topdon BT100 indicated that it just needs charging and that the other functions were ok. Saved me the cost and time booking it in for testing.

Good, All in One Battery tester
The first impression of this tester is really good, it comes well packaged in a nicely designed box, which feels good quality and looks the part too.On opening, I found itโs all in a very nice zip case which is also very good quality, and a very nice touch. It looks good in my roll cab. The case holds the tester well and keep it organised, and as an added bonus, comes with some extra rolls of paper for the printer. To use, itโs pretty self explanatory if Iโm honest, itโs easy to navigate the menus and doesnโt take much figuring out. Just clamp it on and go. I love the fact that itโs backlit, Iโve had testers in the past which arenโt and they can be difficult to read in bad light.Things I like:- Packaging and Presentation- The storage case/bag- Feels like a good quality item in your hand- Easy to use, and seems to deliver accurate results when compared with other testers and my multi-meter- Backlit display- Good quality clamps, though they could be better as Iโll explain below.Things I dislike:- Battery clamps could go a step further if they were more needle nose, I find it difficult to squeeze them onto some terminals.- Printer paper tears off a little short and often gets stuck and crumples inside the unit. A trivial con really, but can be irritating. Can be overcome if your careful how you tear it off, but could be better to avoid this if the lid had more of an internal guide.Summary:A nice unit to have and to use, Iโll have it for a long time. I find it to be accurate enough, and it all stores away nicely in its bag when not in use. Iโd recommend it if you have need to tear more than the odd battery. When the weather gets better and Iโve used it some more, Iโll endeavour to do a video showing itโs use and features in more depth.

Odd result testing a brand new battery
Our 4 years old BMW Z4 main 12 volt battery was losing charge. The automatic stop/start when stationery function wasn't working, which is a symptom of low charge, a warning came up on the app to say the battery needed to be recharged, I fully recharged it with a smart charger. A week later there wasn't enough charge to turn over the engine. Even though it was capable of being recharged, it is clearly time to investigate and think about purchasing a new battery.Given the cost of replacement batteries (especially 'premium' brands - I was looking at ยฃ250 to ยฃ300 - it seemed sensible to run some tests to ensure the battery was a in need of teplacement. I looked at reviews online and decided to buy the TOPDON BT300P.The battery test result showed a state of health of 4%, so I purchased a S5 A13 Bosch AGM Car Battery 12V 95Ah Type 019. Online purchased and fitting the battery oneself proved to be quite a cost saving compared to having it done in a local garage or fitting shop - probably to the extend of paying at least half of the cost of the BT300P.The Bosch battery duly arrived and I ran a test using the BT300P, and not surprisingly, the results, shown in the first image, suggest that the battery is 100%, and capable of more Cold Cranking Amps than advertised. So far so good.Although the test stated the charge to be 100%, given I had no way of knowing if this was correct, and as it is much easier to charge a battery out of the car, I placed it on my smart charger. It proceeded to add more charge for 5 hours before automatically dropping down to trickle charging.I have just fitted the battery and rerun the tests - multiple times. The results are in the second image.According to the BT300P, the internal resistance has gone shooting up. The battery is only capable of a quarter of the Cold Cranking Amps it should be capable of delivering, the state of health is 5%, and it needs to be replaced!! Not what I expected at all, and this, of course, now makes me doubt any results the BT300P gives me.

Great tester, a few limitations
Bought to test FLA batteries in my truck, car trailer, camp trailer and Honda Civic and the AGM batteries in my 3 Corvettes and Honda Passport. Tester is extremely easy to use and works flawlessly. The only things it will not test is the charging system components in my car trailer and camp trailer, as they do not have an engine. The device will test the Battery, but cannot test the Camper's converter output. Need a Multi-meter for that. I also bought the carrying case. Others have said the tester will not fit. Do not understand why, mine fits fine. Another point of note, this device WILL NOT TEST LiFePO4 batteries. Wish it did, as I have a Type 24 / 100 Ah LiFePO4 battery to power my telescopes when 120 VAC is not available. Would have been nice to be able to monitor how much power was still in the battery during the viewing sessions, but I can't.

Topdon Car Battery Tester
Excellent Product , all should haveWorking perfect

Really impressed
Other than a regular multimeter i have never had a battery tester. After reading the manual i gave this thing a try and I am very impressed! Easy to use and results in seconds. You need a lot of information on the battery you are going to test though. Like how many cold cranking amps and what type is it ( flooded, AGM, etc) others have posted it will not test lithium ion batteries so be aware.,but to test vehicles 12 volt batteries, Its Topdon from now on!P.s. bought this to test a auxiliary 12 volts battery from an EV car because its always discharged in the morning.

Worked well however had issues with the clamps and printer.
Comes in a carry case with two rolls of printer paper, immediately found that the printer was not feeding correctly and required constant manual input for it to work as intended. Despite this, it worked consistently for over a year before the positive end clamp snapped off.
