I didn't think it was any good the first few times I used it.... I left it on for 30 minutes, and other than making my hair soft it did nothing in terms of enhancing color. But then I started leaving it on for 60minuets+ and that's when I really saw how good this product is :)

I got the black to go over my medium brown hair with auburn and blonde highlights.My hair was dry when I applied it, but I mixed the gloss with water so it would better spread through my hair. I used about 1/4 of a bottle doing it this way, and I have very thick hair that goes to my mid-back in length.Before washing (since I applied it to my dry hair), the color was very dark. I left it on for about 35 minutes, and washed it out. About 90% of my hair is a very dark brown, with hints of auburn shining through- but it covered all of my blonde highlights.Overall a great product, didn't get me to the darkness I'd wanted- but it looks awesome and my hair was very light in spots from highlights.

left it for 30 min. perfect for when u wanna make your hair a little darker. I boxed dyed my hair a while ago and it left a yello-orangey tint I could not remove (rough especially under certain lighting) and tried all the different blue and purple mask and it wouldn't do enough to get rid of it. This black gloss is a dream and I barely see the orange now! maybe should have put more or left it for longer but it's a million times better. Hair went from light orange brown to nice dark cooler brown.

Great coverage for a gloss! Blends my roots (Note: I have a few grays here and there, but not a whole lot yet! Can't say if it'd work just as well on gray hair.) and revives my hair color between appointments. I apply it on dry hair and let it sit for 45-60 minutes, then hop in the shower and wash it off. Lasts me 3-5 shampoos before I can see any noticeable fading. Removed one star just because it isn't suuuuper hydrating -- colour payoff is good, but don't expect a LOT of shine. Note: while the bottle says black, tone leans a little more on the dark brown side/ appears warmer than pictured. Close enough for my 2N hair... but maybe it wouldn't do as well for blue blacks.

I have short 4c hair and greying at the temples. This product left me with visibly darker black hair - not too unnatural - but it made me realize that my natural hair has a lot of different shades between black and grey. This product was easy to use if you have your own gloves and a basement sink so you don't have to worry about staining. I left it on for about half and hour and even put some on my eyebrows. I had to rub the excess off my skin with cotton wool and oil during the application. Although it didn't cover the grays in my hair it changed my hair color enough to give me a new natural look without fear of damage which I appreciate. I had to wash and condition several times to get the stiff dry feeling out so I'm not too sure this works as a 'gloss' on 4c hair, just a color boost.
