Q: Can that unsightly strap be removed fairly easily?

You'll learn to appreciate that strap when you are carrying it. It hugs your two fingers snugly so that you easily carry it and other stuff (like steaks for the grill) without worrying about dropping it. I also have the HK Onyx 4 which has a measly nook for you to put your fingers in and I've dropped that by accident more than once. With that, you have to use your whole hand to hold it, not just 2 fingers like the C10. Believe me, once you hear the audio quality you won't care about the strap.

Q: Does this support: amazon music, tunein, and pandora?

Amazon music is not, though Alexa apparently is. It probably is using an Echo Dot. TuneIn is (but they're about to drop a bunch of stations). Pandora is not. Spotify it your best bet with this device. Also supported: Spotify, TuneIn, Tidal, IHeartRadio, Napster, Qobuz, Deezer

This will work just like any bluetooth speaker will with Alexa. Once you connect the speaker to Alexa in the Alexa app it will work as you described. We also have our new C5A that has Alexa built in!
