How breathable is it? It looks like that would be an issue with kids

It honestly has plenty of breathing room, it's not tight around the hood part at all. It's comfortable. :)

Is this costume hard for an older child (10 yo) to manage by themselves? (e.g. to go bathroom)

The zipper is in the back of the costume. My daughter who was 9 years old then said that she was able to unzip it herself. She did not need help by another student. I hope this is helpful.

My son is 9 and wears a size 12, but can still fit some size 10/12 although they're getting a bit short. Hes about 55-56 inches tall. Would an xl fit?
