The Original Aftercare Salve - 3/4 Ounce Tin

I have several tattoos, and this is my go to balm. It smells great, feels great, and nourishes my tattoo so that they might last a long time. I also use it on other areas of my body that are chapped, and it makes them feel wonderful and heal quickly. I wish I could buy this in bulk, because it is a bit pricey, but it does the trick.

I only purchase tattoo goo products. I usually buy the boxed set but I had a half sleeve done and thought I would need another tin of the goo. I didn’t but it’s great to use on new and old tattoos. Very easy to apply and I would highly recommend. Made with natural ingredients such as olive fruit oil, beeswax, cocoa seed butter, wheat germ oil, lavandula hybrida oil, sunflower seed oil and rosemary leaf extract. Doesn’t have a bad odor either. It’s a green color and is very smooth. Allows ur tattoo to breath. Wash the tattoo in room temperature water. Wait 15 mins and apply the ointment. Add throughout the day as the tattoo starts to feel dry and tight. The perfect product! Does look like a small tin but a lot goes a very long way. Mine is almost empty because I had my half sleeve done. But I have used this product for all of my 16 and tattoos and I would not use anything else.

Strongly recommend any Tattoo Goo product. My wife uses their products to heal all of her tattoos. This balm is her favorite. It smells great and helps every tattoo heal smooth. It’s easy to apply and feels weightless.

What reivewers complain about. From getting infections by using this product to difficuties opening the tin is beyond me. First and foremost, if your new piece of art work got infected, this is where YOU FAILED in taking proper care of it. To the ones who complain about difficulties opening the tin?.... Maybe you shouldve ordered the "New Tattoo Goo with Easy Button". It contains the same ingredients. Anyway.... although the product contains 3/4oz, alittle bit of it goes a long way. Easy to apply with only a finger tip as it melts with your body heat. Since your new art work is tender to the touch, it definetly helps. So its easy to over apply which i dont recommend as your new tattoo needs to breath and it wont help to speed up the healing stages. Ointments and healing lotions like Lubriderm, Aquaphor, etc.... in my opinion, its too thick to apply on to big pieces such as quarter sleeves, full sleeves, you get the idea. The area is just too tender and sensitive to apply such thick products. It isnt greasy if you dont over apply the Goo. The aroma of it is actually calming. Very plesant. Not mediciney (if thats a word) at all. Pretty much the scent of what your artist uses for lube during the session. Highly recommended for caring of your new and existing art work.

I have repurchased this salve many times throughout my time since I first discovered it 14 years ago. The only reason why I've given a 4* rating is due to tin size, that there's sometimes prep that needs to be done before it's easily spreadable and that it doesn't absorb much into the skin. I will explain. Another con is that sometimes the tin can be a PITA to open. Especially if you get a "bad" tin that just absolutely refuses unless you pry it open rather than just easily twisting it on a "good" tin. I have found and have been using another salve for during the daytime for the past few months. However, I do still use this specifically at night to "marinate" my fresh tattoos. As mentioned above, the tin is small. For good size tattoos, you may go through at least two, maybe three full size tins in a couple of weeks in my experience. I had gotten to the point where I would order those two or three ahead of time so I wouldn't run out while my fresh tattoo was still healing. The prep that I mentioned is carrying this in my pocket to use my body heat to soften it before use. This salve is pretty solid unless it's warm. Even if you work it loose, you may have some jagged edges or tiny hard bits which can scratch if you're not careful. It will also mostly sit on the skin. Which can be beneficial in that it does keep the skin soft for a while, but it can be a hindrance if you end up bumping into something or someone and end up leaving an oily smudge. This is one of the reasons why I've moved to using this primarily at night. I put a layer of it on, wrap my tattoo and go to bed. Even if my wrap moves, the tattoo itself isn't overly dried out by the time I get up and moving to wash it again and reapply a salve to it. I do love the scent. Since it's been 14 years, it kind of has a nostalgic effect on me now. Also, it doesn't clog pores. That is a definite plus. When I first sought this stuff out, I had clogged pores from stuff people had recommended to me and an allergic reaction to said stuff. I found this, bought it along with the wash and within a couple of uses, I wasn't itchy and scaly anymore from the allergic reaction I had and had started to heal my skin again. The pros do outweigh the cons in my opinion which is why I choose to continue to purchase and use this salve.

I've been tattooing my eyebrows for years and have always used the ointment sold by the company that sells the ink for permanent makeup. The healing process has always seemed mediocre so I decided to look into a new product to cover the new ink with the hope of better results. I'm so glad I switched to this balm because it is much better than my old ointment I've been using. The tin is very easy to open (some say it is hard to open) and although it seems small, a tiny bit goes a long way. The coverage is perfect, not too heavy, light or greasy. After searching for a product without petroleum and minimal ingredients that brings out the beautiful color with perfect healing, I"m sold and never using anything other than this product.

Y number one thing to go too ... Love this makes you tattoo heal nicely n keeps it nice n most I always use this product the kit is the best when you get some fresh ink

My artist put me onto this stuff and damn, it makes the color pop like crazy and also smells good.

The picture and the product received are not matching. Don't know if this is the same product. Can someone please clarify??

Chaque tatouage est différente, c'est très importante de suivre l'avis de votre artiste car c'est elle, ou lui, qui comprend comment son propre travail va cicatriser. J'ai pris ce produit car la tatouage est sur un zone de mouvement, l'hydratation pendant la cicatrisation est nécessaire. Une petite quantité suffit pour couvrir la tatouage (après lavage au savon, rinçage de l'eau, séchage a l'air), ça sent bon, et ce n'est pas gras, ça ne va pas laisser des traces sur tes vêtements.

You can use it but I don't see nay effect on tattoos Can is hard to open and very very small. Buy it or not your choice for me It was not worth it

I really like this little tin, it's handy, I can carry it with me and it does a great job. The goo itself is lovely to put on, rub your clean finger over the content of the pot and rub on to your tattoo. There is very little smell and what there is smells natural and quite nice. The goo glides on really well, and moisturises brilliantly. Absorbs well and doesn't leave an oily residue. The tin might be small but the product is rather mighty and lasts ages.
