Does the watch stop when not being worn? How do I keep it running when not wearing it?

It will eventually wind down and stop unless you shake or move the watch so the mechanical weight inside can energise/wind it up again. I think if you do this every couple of days it will be fine. I have owned this type of watch sence 1966, it is a Seko from Japan and still works.

Is the tachometer functional or just for decoration?

The small dial of the watch is a calendar function, not an ornament.

Is the band replaceable/interchangeable?

From what I can tell, yes it is replaceable.
