Arm & Hammer Nubbies T-Bone Dental Dog Chew Toy, Peanut Butter Flavor

My dogs love this! It is a perfect size for puppies and adult dogs. Good for testing and has a colorful look. No bad smell.

The Arm & Hammer Nubbies T-Bone Dental Dog Chew is basically my dog’s new best friend. I have a 20-pound, 12-year-old Cockerpoo mutt, and even though we brush his teeth every day, he still has tartar. Since he’s too old to go under anesthesia for a professional cleaning, I wanted something to supplement our daily brushing and help keep his teeth in better shape. One whiff of the peanut butter flavor and he was hooked… and unlike most toys that meet their tragic end in under ten minutes, this one is still going strong and durable. It has no smell, at least to me. The durable nylon can take a serious beating from even the most determined chewer, and those little textured nubs aren’t just for looks—they actually help scrub teeth and massage gums while my dog thinks he’s just having the time of his life. It keeps him busy, makes his breath less questionable, and gives me a little peace and quiet. Plaque removal, entertainment, and a toy that doesn’t end up in the trash on day one? That’s what I call a win-win… or maybe a win-win-woof. Overall, it did take him a few throws and me getting excited, playing chase with it, to get him interested. But, that was a total of five minutes and he fell in love. I understand the design of this toy. Our dog is able to grip the bottom part and chew on the top, keeping it stable, but I did do a double-take at the design…if you know what I mean. Lastly, be careful where you throw and exercise safety. This thing has some weight to it. It could easily damage and break a window if you don’t aim correctly. I’m giving it five stars because it’s my picky dog likes it and treats it like a toy, not realizing it’s for his own good!

My dog loves to gnaw on these hard chews. They can get kind of gnarly and sharp to step on after a while…which is why I keep extras!

I was expecting them to be a bit more flexible but they are definitely really hard. My pups seem to like them but I most likely won't rebuild them as I find the material in their teeth.

It just looks like "a thing," but my dog loves it. She attacks it with gusto; a single-minded mission to destroy with her teeth. She can't get enough of it, and that was my first requirement. The second requirement was longevity. It is a very strong "thing." She’s been at it for a few weeks and it is just now beginning to show wear, as the video shows. There are definite teeth marks all around, and she's just 7 months old. In the video, she is recovering from spay surgery. I need things to keep her attention so she'll keep from trying to play, which could open her stitches. We've been fortunate in her healing, and this "thing" has been a useful diversion. So, I wholly recommend it as a recovery device. If it keeps being strong and durable, at least for a few months, I don't think I could ask for more than that. UPDATE MAY 28TH 2023 Yeah, I happened to see little blue pieces on the floor a bit too late and found some in her stool so I threw it out. Not sure of there's such a thing as a durable enough toy. My little Pomeranian princess is obsessed with this thing 😂. I should’ve gotten the 2 pack. Well I know where to get it from these will stay on our list!

French Bulldog approves! He’s not a big chewer but really enjoys chewing this daily for a short period of time before bedtime. He’s 6 and has accumulated many chew toys. This is by far his favorite. Perfect size for him to carry and hold.

This toy is made of hard, low-quality plastic and was definitely not durable for my dog. Within just a few minutes, he was able to chew off the top layer with the little raised nubs and started swallowing pieces of plastic as he destroyed it. It was damaged so badly within minutes that I had to throw it away. I didn’t feel comfortable letting him continue playing with it because I didn’t want him ingesting plastic. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this for dogs that are even moderately strong chewers.

This is a LOT harder than I was expecting it to be. But he loves it. And brings it all over the place with him. So I’m happy!
