Fits Shure WL184/185 lav mics
Great product, if you already have Shure lav mics save a ton of money by putting one in this mount rather than buying a Shure instrument mic. It's the same capsule. These work great!

Versatile and Functional but with Limited Life
I've been using this model of instrument mount on my sax for close to twenty years, if not longer. It has a lot going for it. It is adequately flexible. It holds the mic element securely in the included windscreen. The clip is strong and will not mar the surface of whatever you clip it to (like a sax bell). It fits the Audio Technica ATM 35 or AT 35 Pro series of microphones. It also comes included with the Samson Airline wind instrument mic, which is what I use now. I love the microphone, so this is the mount for the job. The only issue I have with the Unimount, is that it does wear out with use. Over time, the stress points will weaken, loosen, and eventually break. Now to be fair, I am a full-time musician and play in rock bands. I am not easy on equipment...so it's only natural that stuff wears out, eventually. If I had to guess, I'd say I get about five years of frequent use out of one mount. I'm not sure if that's "good" or "bad"...but fortunately, they are still available and easy to replace. More casual (or careful) musicians might get many more years out of one Unimount.

May work with other electret condenser mics
Many years ago, I purchased a Shure SM-98A condenser microphone to use on my trumpet. I have probably gone through at least 2-3 of the horn clamps that were designed to be used with these mics, and I have never really liked them all too much. I recently had to come back to a decision that I mulled over at least once before: Will the Audio Technica version work with my microphone? If you are in a similar boat, I have some potentially good news for you: The SM-98A capsule fits into this particular mount and I imagine that it is a good bet that it will will work with similarly designed electret condenser mics. The one thing to be cognizant of is that the foam piece is what actually secures the mic in place. I have not taken it out for a test run in a real life situation yet and will try my best to update this review should anything change over time.

AT8418 Mic Mount fits very few mics
I don't actually use the AT 35 mics this mount is designed for. I use them as lower-profile mounting kits for Shure Beta98 and SM98 mics. The design of this mount depends totally on the windscreen for mic holding, which really limits their usefulness. On the plus side, the gooseneck and clamp are incredibly strong for their size which makes them usable in a lot of situations, and the little cable clips work great and do not fall apart after years of use. Drum hardware, horn bells, cello bridges and double bass f-holes all play nice with this mount. Mics I use successfully with it include Shure 98s, Countryman Isomax.I own ten of these and they see fairly light professional use in live television productions. The windscreens fall apart fairly easily and to my knowledge are not available separately from AT. I think it's safe to say all ten windscreens are shot before a single part of even one mount has failed. This has required a search for third party screens, which fit with a little effort, such as Windtech #10377 or #1112.

High quality cardiod for acoustic guitar
I think the value for the price could be better, but i have no qualms about the ability of this mic to faithfully reproduce the sound of my the loar LH-600. However, i bought it for stage and am still having trouble getting the volume to where i need it to compete with other instruments without insane feedback.

Clip is too small for a piano
As a small instrument mic mount, this is a nice little unit with a little windscreen for a lav microphone, flexible gooseneck with isolation standoffs for the mic cable, and an alligator-style mounting clip with rubber grips. I'd give it 5-stars but the mounting clip is too small. On a grand piano the clips don't open wide enough to comfortably grab the sounding board struts or sound holes. I'd clip it on and 5 minutes later it would pop off. Of course the piano isn't moving; I can't imagine these clips would be much more reliable on a sax or other instrument being moved around.I ended up making them work by first using a Rowi camera clamp to clamp onto the piano soundboard strut - which with its screw mount made a very solid but smaller surface to then clamp the AT clip onto. But it all looked a bit Rube Goldberg once it was setup and the elegance of the AT clamps was gone.

Great replacement for the Airline 77 Wireless instrument mic, if the clip or mic holder breaks.
The clip on my Airline 77 Wireless instrument mic broke and I was possibly looking at buying a whole new system just for a broken clip. I was about to overlook this product until I read a review that specifically mentioned the Airline 77 Wireless mic clip replacement. It worked great and the clip on this product may be more robust than the original.
