writing titles is the hardest part of a review
I love these things. Freeze-dried foods are $10 to $15 for about 400 to 500 calories, but they are popular because they are so convenient. Now I have the convenience at a fraction of the cost. 1. They are easily cleaned in the dishwasher. 2. The bags are sealed in a curve at the corners to prevent food from getting stuck in the corners. 3. They open at the bottom so they can stand on their own so you don't have to do a balancing act when letting the boiling water cook the food. 4. They come with labels so you know what's inside. I use a pencil so I can reuse the labels. The labels survive the dishwasher just fine. 5. You can either heat them shut for long-term storage, or you can use the zip-lock seal to reuse them. 6. Some freeze-dried meals have the rectangle standing up, so you have to dig deep to get to the food. This has the rectangle laying down, so you don't have to dig as deep. 7. You can add or subtract as much food as you want. If the freeze-dried foods are 500 calories each, and you normally eat 700 calories a meal, then you have to combine the freeze-dried food with a granola bar or something, or you can just have the meal you prepared be 700 calories. 8. You can add flavoring directly to the food rather than carrying it separately. Want pepper and parmesan cheese to go with your noodles? Just add it to this bag. 9. I've never understood why freeze-dried foods take up so much space. You add couscous to this bag, it's a lot of calories for very little space. Your bear canister is only so big. Bottom line, I'm really surprised that from all the YouTube hiking videos I watch, that none of them have even mentioned this product, even if it's to say something negative. Do they not even know about it? If you do any camping or backpacking, you owe it to yourself to try these. (If you're just hiking for the day, then just a sandwich is fine, lol.)

Prepper and Camper friendly
This company provides some good recipes for Meal Replacements that allow us to use better quality ingredients than the expensive commercially prepared camp meals. Using the provided oxygen absorbers and my flat iron (hair ) tool I am confident of the tasty meals I just prepared for longterm storage - many years, if necessary. Each bag feeds one or two meals, just add 1 1/2 cups boiling water and wait 5-12 minutes after closing the bag. I purchased Butler Soy Fines, powdered soy sauce and powdered tomato. Other seasonings and ingredients from my pantry provided tasty, balanced meals that will last stored in cool (40 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit) dark boxes on my shelves. With and without gluten. High value for the money, Easy to label, leak proof and food safety assured when used as directed. No detectable odor once sealed, looks good when taste tested, and I especially enjoyed the soup, chile and pasta e fagoli recipes.

Great quality!
I purchased some bulk freeze dried foods that came in #10 cans. I wanted to preserve most of them, but have a bit out for easy access. These bags worked perfect for storing the extra until needed. Iโm very pleased with the Mylar thickness, plenty durable for shelf storage or even on the go. The design of the MRE bags is nice, as the wide opening makes filling or using them a breeze. The zipper closure works great and makes a good seal. For the longer term storage quantities, I used my clothes iron to seal up the tops. Iโm sure an impulse sealer is quicker and easier, but the trusty iron did just fine.

Food Storage Essential!
Excellent for food storage! These are easy to fill and use oxygen absorbers, and then you seal with an iron of Flatiron. The food is good for about 20 years!

Looking forward to some camping breakfasts.
A full kit for 30 Labeled Packs. Every think felt thick and heavy duty. Holds about 2 cups of freeze dried scrambled eggs (about 8 cooked eggs). Some of the pouches had impressions on the surface. 5 starts with out the impressions.

Perfect for my freeze dried MRE's
These bags are great for my freeze drying needs. Super thick mil ensures longtime storage. These bags are the perfect size for my chamber vacuum sealer. These are my go to bags when I make MRE's. Gusseted bottom lets the bags stand up when I re-hydrate the meals in the bag.

Good quality for hiking.
We just recently tested these bags on hiking trip and they worked perfect. They feel like quality bags and so far the freeze dried food stored in them have had no issues. It is a little harder to close the bags when almost full since they're wide and not tall. But love the width for eating on the trail.

Game changer
These are a game changer when dehydrating homemade meals for camping. Extremely durable, enough room in 1 pouch for 2 full dinner servings. Easy to seal with a flat iron.
