Worth the high cost
I was skeptical about purchasing these Yamuna foot wakers because they seemed expensive for what you get ($60 and change and no real discount available) for what looked like a dog toy: 2 gold-colored half sphere knobby plastic balls. I recently had extensive foot and ankle surgery on my left foot (about 10 weeks ago) and have just recently started to be full weight bearing on my left foot. I still have limited movement in my left ankle, despite regularly doing ankle and foot exercises, and have tenderness in several points of my foot. I purchased this product based on mostly positive reviews from customers with various feet problems. My Yamuna foot wakers and DVD arrived about 3 days ago. I took off my shoes and socks to see how they felt on problem areas but knew I had to watch the DVD that came with it to get any real benefit. Yes, the foot wakers feel great even right out of the box, without viewing the DVD. Yamuna states you must follow her program to realize any lasting benefits so I watched the program once through and then concentrated on the program I would do: the chair routine, the easiest routine. I thought Yamuna was very thoughtful that she includes 3 different foot routines for 3 different intensities: chair routine (easiest) standing routine (moderate) and, standing routine on a wall (highest intensity). Yamuna first explains about the different foot zones, how your foot is divided in her exercise routines and how her exercise program works. I was determined to try the chair routine as much as I could tolerate. When I complete the chair routine and put my feet back on the floor, as Yamuna invites you to do, my feet feels "alive". It feels like the circulation in my injured foot has improved because I feel parts of my left foot I had not previously felt since before my surgery. I thought that the way my foot felt and the intensity of the workout might make my foot swollen, which has been a recent problem for me since my surgery. However, my foot has not become swollen after the chair routine. I've been doing this chair routine about 2 times per day over the past 3 days and I already feel a positive change in my feet (I do it for both feet). I think this product is incredible. If you have any kind of foot problem, buy this product. The cost is not high when you consider the benefit you will be doing for your feet over your lifetime. If you have diabetes or any tenderness in any part of your foot/feet, wear socks when you first do the routine and/or place a towel over the foot wakers. You may only need the socks and towel when it causes you to direct you attention to your problem area(s) and not during the entire foot routine. I think having bare feet provides maximum benefit if you want to improve the circulation in your feet but doing the routine with socks on will still help improve your flexibility. Give your feet time to adjust to the foot wakers before you give up and decide they are not helping you. So, use the Yamuna foot wakers with caution at first but continue to stick with the routine for several weeks. Start with the chair routine. If you continue to use it every day, even just once a day, you will feel a difference in your feet. I have just started to use it over 3 days and the difference is amazing. I have found they help improve my foot flexibility and circulation. Bottom line, the foot wakers are worth the price but follow the program to obtain full benefits of improved flexibility and better circulation. Your feet will thank you.

Wake Up Your Feet!!!!
Best Foot Product Do you find that you are always wishing for a foot rub? Are your feet sore? Do you have ghastly feet with hammer toes, plantar fasciitis, bunions or flat feet? (That would be me!) Most of our foot problems stem from bad shoes, bad genetics, and misaligned feet. My sister turned me on to Yamuna Foot Fitness, and this woman, Yamuna, really knows her stuff! How is it that feet are completely ignored when it comes to fitness? It doesn't make much sense if you think about it. The feet are the foundation of our body yet when is the last time that your gym offered a 'foot fitness' class? We work our quads, calves, abs, biceps, triceps, but we completely ignore strengthening our feet, which support our total body weight and are locked up in shoes all day long with minimal movement. No wonder we have so much foot pain! Foot Wakers are very hard plastic half-spheres covered with knobbles not like anything out there on the market. Five minutes using the Foot Wakers Instructional DVD energizes your entire body while improving foot flexibility, muscle tone, strength and circulation. I want to add that these Foot Wakers are by no means anything like the small balls with the knobbles that you see on the internet. I have those, and they are awkward to use and basically do nothing. Immediately upon using the Foot Wakers, I felt, what I can describe as, an 'energy current' running through my body. My feet felt 'open' and 'alive'. I could actually feel the increased circulation throughout your body. I was instantly perked up! It was an amazing start to my day. I have used these every morning for a week now, and my feet feel great! This feeling stays with you for the whole day! IT works deep into the foot and has the same benefits as Reflexology. You will notice instantly that your toes are separated and alive. The Foot Wakers are an amazing product. The sensation generated from the Foot Wakers is very addictive. This product can be a little uncomfortable, but it hurts so good. IT wonโt stop you from using it. Always start out with socks in the beginning. This is a ONE-TIME purchase for life, and you will never need a foot massage again! Read all of the 5 STAR reviews. See [...] for more reviews.

Free at Last! Foot wakers are the real deal. Update: I would buy them again.
June 2021. I still use these as part of my overall plan for plantar fasciitis. I haven't had a flare up in years. I credit that to input from physical therapy, exercise, stretching, and products like this. I know what pain awaits me if I stop using this in my routine. It's over 6 years later and they are still getting regular use. UPDATE: July 2015. I'm still using this product and have continued to experience relief. I was experiencing such improvement that I stopped using these for several months. That was a big mistake. I returned to daily use of this product with the addition of a muscle roller in my daily routine. I still travel with this product and use it whenever I have a chance. My review is not to be considered medical advice. ** Original Review *** I had plantar fasciitis foot pain for four years. I would crawl out of the bed in the morning and eventually force myself upright. Yes, you read that right. Crawl. On all fours due to painful feet. I spent money visiting orthopedic specialist and podiatrist. I took prescription pill after prescription pill. Through the years your mind numbs and you accept normal as a โtolerableโ level of constant, soul-searching pain. It was in desperation that I sought out other alternatives. I found these foot wakers on Amazon and read every review. I laughed as I ordered them. Iโm ordering a โdog chew toy.โ How could foot wakers help where all the medical specialists could not? I AM NOT LAUGHING NOW. These little knobby โdog chewโ toys work. I did the seated routine at first, but needed the standing routine. Yes, foot wakers hurt. But when every day you have pain level 8-10, the discomfort felt while using the foot wakers was negligible. Maybe a 3 or 4. I noticed a difference the very next morning. I went to put weight on my feet and could actually do it! I didnโt have to crawl or cry. Everyday since I continue to notice that my gait is better, my strides are longer, my pain level is less. There was actually a day that I had NO pain. And that was after less than a week of use. I have paid thousands of dollars to relieve my foot pain. If you told me that a 60 dollar product would work I would have gladly paid my money. Iโm happy to have them and now want another set to keep in my office. I know pain is subjective and everybody responds differently. For me, these freed me from years of pain. I highly recommend them.

Surprising and effective
Buy this with the intent to use with the DVD regularly. I intended to learn the dvd and then do it on my own but the coaching is so good and doesnโt take long. By the way, I looked into this because my podiatrist recommended them. Original review: Wow, I am surprised. Iโve struggled with foot and ankle pain for the last two years (Iโm only in my 20s). I just started using these yesterday but Iโve definitely noticed more mobility in my feet. The muscles in my feet do feel looser after using this. I plan to use it in the morning before I exercise and in the evening before bed. That often might not be necessary for most folks to feel results, thatโs just what I think is good for me and my daily pain level. Something I really wasnโt expecting was how good of a stretch it is on my toes!! I had no idea I needed to be stretching my toes but now I will definitely continue. Definitely the first time you use them sit down with some patience to get in the groove. Also look for the circle on the foot diagram to help understand where to put your foot on the ball. I thought the circle was just showing the area being targeted. 3 months later: OK, I was a little overzealous at the start and slacked soon after. Iโve started using them again and the stretch is such a good pain. This product is worth every penny. I have a healed broken middle toe that Iโve had xrayed, and my doctor says thereโs not much to do about it. I used to splint it every night and would still get pain. These taught me that the toe needs movement, stretch, and flexibility. When I slack the base of that toe gives me a lot of pain, I always know itโs time to break these out. If you notice yourself slacking when first getting started, just acknowledge it. Decide if you want to try to keep at it or set a reminder to revisit.

These really do work.
These really do work. I was struck down with plantar fasciitis in both feet about a month after I started rucking. I was shocked as I spend much of my time barefoot and have never had any issues with foot pain. I also run (although I'm not particularly fast) and had never had any foot pain from running. So... too much ruck weight too far too fast, I guess. The pain was mostly in my arches although I did have the burning / tingling / aching / swelling throughout the soles of my feet. Every step felt like being stabbed in the arches with a knife. It was agony. I tried many things, all of which helped: stretching my calves like it was my second job, foam rolling, going to massage therapist, using a night splint (which I never attempted to sleep in, but I did wear it while watching t.v.), rolling my foot on a lacrosse ball, wearing Crocs around the house (they helped a lot, but I sure did miss the sensory experience of bare feet). My feet improved significantly for day-to-day light activity, but if I walked more than a couple of gentle miles, my feet really started to hurt again. One time I had to sit down on the curb in some neighborhood and take my shoes off to massage my feet just so I could limp home. How embarrassing! I bought the Foot Wakers in desperation. They are expensive for basically plastic nubby things. At first, they hurt so bad I thought I was going to cry, but I've stuck with it, and 3 weeks later I am operating without any noticeable ongoing pain. I'm back to barefoot around the house, and I am building my ruck weight back up (gently this time!) with 1-hour long rucks. This past Saturday, I actually forgot to stretch my calves mid-way through my ruck because... nothing hurt?! It actually seemed kind of weird afterwards which is both sad and awesome, lol. That particular ruck was a little longer than planned, too, because I spent an extra 20 minutes helping a lady find her lost dog (Victory!). :) A few tips: Use them as often as you can, several times a day at least. If it hurts too much when you start out, wear socks which will blunt your suffering until the pain starts to improve. Eccentric calf raises on these have been very helpful for me. They come as a pair, but I take one to work during the week. This way I have one at home and one at work so I can always be working on my feet (even if it's just one foot at a time) without having to remember to carry them back and forth every day. They travel well, so don't forget to take them with you!

Instant relief from plantar fasciitis
I did not want to pay $70 for these things. I tried them briefly at a Yamuna legs class, and caved when I noticed they made my feet feel less like cement blocks. I am so glad I got them. The day I received them I was having a bad plantar fasciitis flare up in one foot. I had even pulled my old crutches out of storage so that I could use them around the house. I'd had pf for 8 months (undiagnosed for a while by my physical therapist as stress and general female hysteria), and this was the worst it had gotten. The wakers came with a DVD, and I immediately did the the sitting and standing routine. I felt some relief after the exercises, but the weirdest thing happened about five hours later, when I stood up from my computer with almost no pain. During the course of the day, without doing any of my numerous pf stretches, the discomfort was just gone. Skeptically, I did the standing routine again before going to bed. Foot ecstasy. When I woke up the next morning I could walk around with very little pain. Did the standing routine again not long after waking. More foot ecstasy and increased circulation. I am totally hooked on these things. I went from frustration, crutches, and feeling like the pain would never end to walking around barefoot a little bit with no discomfort in the course of maybe 10 hours. These wakers are going with me everywhere from now on. I just tried the advanced standing positions, which are still too advanced for me, but no worries. If you have ever felt the gnawing, disheartening pain of plantar fasciitis, felt your world shrink because you could barely walk, had therapists refuse to help you with the most common foot injury ever, and been a generally grumpy person because your feet feel like they're being stabbed with every step, these little guys are for you.

I wasn't 100% better, and seriously thought that maybe I never would ...
I bought these in 2013, to help with a Morton's neuroma, and promptly misplaced them before ever using them. Meanwhile, I developed plantar fasciitis (and a heel spur) in the same foot, and had it for over a year, getting only a bit of relief from rolling my foot on a tennis ball, foot rollers, or a spiky little ball, and icing my foot. The boot didn't help a bit. Birkenstock sandals and inserts helped while I was wearing them, but didn't cure my problem. The Strassburg Sock actually helped make the pf about 60-70% better- and so much easier to sleep in than the boot. But still, I wasn't 100% better, and seriously thought that maybe I never would be. Then I found my foot wakers. I opened the package immediately, popped in the dvd, and got started. The first time I used them I noticed a huge difference! I also experienced some foot and calf cramping while doing the exercises, which I hoped would get better with further use. The cramping did get entirely better, and so have my pf and neuroma. Nothing short of miraculous. I wholeheartedly recommend the foot wakers. BTW, i just do the sitting version of the exercises, as I have found complete relief that way. I still do them most every day. Takes about 10 minutes and feels so good to my feet.

Expensive but totally worth it
I didnโt know that I could rehab my fallen arches. I just thought that I needed to wear my orthotics in my shoes for the rest of my life.

Great half rollers!
Easy to use sitting or standing. They squish a bit so that gives lovely relief without being too intense. Also - awesome if you have a foot itch ;D I use these every day - not because it's mandatory for foot issues but because I really like them.

Awakening experience for the feet
Very pricey but they work! I have plantar fascilitis for months and just stepping on these footwakers was like an awakening experience for my soles. Its been weeks and though the pain is still there, admittedly because I wasnt disciplined enough, it feels like a great releaser of some sort everything i step on these. I just need to do it more often, I think. The videos are excellent guides to stretching parts of the feet that I wouldnt know โexistโ and feels really relieved after each stretch. Makes me appreciate my feet a lot more, every inch of muscle, tendon, nerve all intertwined together to help me walk and run. Get these. No regrets.
