North Island Oil Refinery 933-3219 N Scale Model Railroad - Structure Kit

Challenging but realistic N Scale model railroad refinery for a layout. Lots of small pieces that must be glued and assembled

I purchased two of these refinery kits to be "kitbashed" as one large refinery complex. The North Island Refinery kit is very detailed with fractionating towers, platforms, valves, heat exchangers, pumps, and overhead piping systems. Walthers Cornerstone kits are excellent for any industrialized model railroad.

After being on the shelf for the past few years I finally broke this kit out to build. it is a nice model kit but sadly SEVERELY lacks in instruction. Not a kit for the novice builder. It doesn't have any resource photo's to help in the construction other than the box cover photo. I have searched on the internet for reference photos to help sadly none exisits. Numerous areas of flashing on the piping. Vague instructions but excellent product support for missing & or damaged parts. Tip, read the instruction sheet as a set of blue prints. orient the model in the same direction as the instruction sheet shows for easier understanding. Not recommended for the novice modeler.

Horrible kit. Too much flash, terrible fit of parts, and what instructions are given are horrendous. If you are thinking of buying this kit don’t do it for your own mental health. Shame as it’s a nice looking kit but I will be very happy to finally finish if it doesn’t end up in the trash first. You couldn’t pay me to build this kit again. It’s a sin they charge as much as a Tamiya kit for this trash. Take my word for it, I have built many models and this is the worst kit. Worse than an even a RPM kit.

The model is very detailed but the instructions are some of the worst I have ever seen. You would need to be a petroleum engineering to build this thing I have all but given up on completing this modle if I had not already spent 20 plus hours trying to figure it out I would just throw it away!

the directions are very hard to understand. Better off finding photos thatothers have built and using that as a guide.

Nice kit but the instructions are poorly detailed. There are some you-tube videos posted by other modelers that are helpful.

Quite a challenge to build it together. Took me 3 evenings to complete. most of a time is to figure out where part go. The instructions is poor, and printed left to right, right to left. Once completed, it make the layout standout

Great product, lots of parts to keep you interested and the seller was polite and helpful.

Typisch Walters, Gewaltig viel Kleinkrams, Plastikteile fallen gerne Tage nach erfolgtem Kleben ab oder auseinander. Keine Ahnung was da in dem Kunstoff ist, aber egal, Walters hat halt coole Modelle

Die Spritzgussplatten befinden sich in einen sehr guten Zustand, lassen sich sehr gut verarbeiten und die Anleitung in Bildern ist sehr gut verständlich. Dieses Modell ist eine Bereicherung für jede Anlage.
