Works well
What you see is what you get. Nice little unit which works well. I don’t have a 5.1 set up though the tv supports it so can’t comment on that, but the unit worked straight out of the box - once I had changed the tv output setting to Optical!

Easy to set up and use
I needed something that would allow us to stream the TV into my Dad's bluetooth hearing aids and through speakers at the same time. Most sites seemed to imply it was not possible. Others drowned me in technical terminology and instructions - useless other than as a timely reminded of my own ineptitude.Anyway, finally put in a search term that mentioned this for soundbars plus headphones. Thought I may as well give it a go. Wow. Very easy to set up and worked immediately - and continues to work! I can choose whether to stream just to the hearing aids or through the speakers as well. The sound is clear. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to split sound between two outputs and who doesn't feel compelled to dive into incomprehensible jargon for the sake of something that might have marginal sound gains.

Nice device to enable sound from Phono to Optical cables.
The 5.1 works well with my TV setup, outputting nice surround sound. The optical cable supplied is cheap and doesn’t fit snuggly. It did take a while to get it to work. But a new cable with gold connectors sorted everything out. Box works well with TV USB.

Dolby compatible DAC for Panasonic HZ1000 55” OLED TV
Used to connect Panasonic HZ1000 OLED TV to an old Pioneer XV-dv131 5.1 audio system. This DAC clearly met the need and working fine. Audio quality is great, no need to buy a sound bar now.

It just works - no more cable moving
Now I can play BluRays, recording or live TV off the cable PVR, or even VHS tapes, and not have to move the home theatre audio input cables. All sound funnels through the flat screen TV on its way to the home theatre amp and speakers. Haven't used the built-in volume control or the 3.5 mm adapter, not sure if that would drive a set of earbuds off the TV.Volume control is the weirdest I've eve seen, with separate "louder" and "softer" buttons on opposite ends of the box...but in my setup I don't need to use the converter to control volume anyway. It says it does Dolby but I haven't verified that yet. Only stereo, not 5.1 surround sound but my speakers aren't set up for surround sound anyway. Pleased at the trouble-free setup.I powered the converter/decoder from a spare USB jack on our cable box that isn't used for anything anyway. The speed of delivery was the main reason for buying here, though the "guaranteed delivery" was again off by one day.

Compatibilidad Dolby
