First experience with Mastic gum is a good one
Mastic gum came across my radar a couple years ago. I was always interested in it but never could justify the price of it. I really have no use for it other than extended chewing to keep my teeth clean and help with fidgeting while at work. as of a week into chewing this, I can honestly say I am very impressed with the product. Pros: -You can pretty much chew this indefinitely. You can take it out to eat or to take a break and throw the piece back in after and it was like you never left. -Really works the mastication muscles. I get that's why many buy this, and trust me it works. My jaw was sore (in a good way) after trying this for the first few hours. -The flavor has yet to go away while chewing. -It is a great alternative to other forms of chewing gum with questionable ingredients. Cons: -The gum is coated with an odd powdery substance that some say is not supposed to be there. I personally don't have any experience with this and cannot confirm it, but I guess it is a sign of older, not as fresh, mastic gum. - I drink a lot of water. ice water coming in contact with this gum in your mouth will turn it into a rock, and it will break like candy in your mouth. It will eventually return to the nice chewing form, but it can be annoying. I know this is not anything out of the ordinary for this gum, but I am new to it, and it was a less than delightful surprise. -Flavor: I personally enjoy it. It is a very natural, almost pine like flavor. It is not overpowering, but it is different. Some people will find the flavor utterly disgusting. If you are worried about not liking the flavor, I would suggest trying a naturally flavored option. -Price: It is nowhere near as cheap as the gum you would purchase at a gas station. It does last exponentially longer, but you will have to decide whether the price is worth it for you. Overall, I would say if you are looking to try Mastic gum for the first time, this is a great option. I will definitely be buying more.

Great gum!
I love this gum. I love how there are no added ingredients, so no chemicals, gut irritants or microplastics. I chewed the same piece for over a week and it never broke down or got sticky(I read that the sap is naturally antibacterial so you can do this for a bit. I went longer because I set it in chlorine dioxide(water sanitation and not like regular chlorine that’s bad), mixed with water for a minute every other day). I always let the pieces warm up a bit in my mouth to soften before I start to chew. The gum has never been sticky for me but I gave some to a friend and it kept sticking to their teeth(not falling apart though). They also said it left a film. After about five minutes of chewing and using their tongue or finger to unstick it, the sticking stopped. Our theory is that it was sticking to a film of some sort(from food or bacteria) and that the gum quit sticking because it cleaned the teeth. I love the workout my jaw gets. At first it was sore so I chewed it for less time and now I can chew longer. For storage I put some pieces in an amber glass jar with silica packets and I carry that with me. I put the majority in another amber glass with silica packets and put it in a cool dark place. I’m hoping this will keep out more moisture and increase the “life” span since they won’t keep getting exposed every time I open the container. I will update this review if the pieces don’t last well and start to get weird from moisture over time, even with my extreme storage methods.

I like it
This is my first time trying mastiha for dental health. Haven't used it long enough to notice a difference yet, just want to add I notice some pieces are way softer and stickier than others, but unevenness is to be expected for a natural product. My tip is just feel it with your fingers and mix the harder ones with the softer ones, it takes two to three pieces to equate to the size of a regular piece of gum. Biggest pro for me is the natural flavor is mild but last forever, unlike regular gums. So you can save it for later.

The worst mastiha I’ve tried
I usual use a different brand but this came up as amazons choice, so I thought I’d try it. Same origin and same single ingredient. The brand I usually use comes in pretty solid tears that gradually warm and become chewy once you put them in the mouth. I can feel my teeth being cleaned, it stays as one piece, kind of like chewing gum. This one’s tears are already kind of soft and moldable straight out the packet. In the mouth they totally disintegrate but in to tiny plasticky bits that get stuck in the teeth and just do nothing…I had to brush and floss multiple times to get it out of my mouth. The worst part - not eligible for return…don’t waste your money.

Okay quality. A lot of soft, chewy pieces.

Not bad for price.
It's real mastic, compared with the other expensive brand, this one is almost as good. The problem is that this one is old, it's a lot yellower, there are more pieces that tend to be chewier, and the pine tree flavor is stale and almost doesn't exist. For nearly half the price compared on Amazon, it still does the job and is excellent.

The real stuff
Definitely the real stuff. I do think it helped with healing my stomach. It is not soft. It’s hard as a rock and no chewing will make it not hard. That’s just how it is. The natural texture. The taste is very medicinal. It is a little pricey but you buy some for a long time. You need like a dime size work to chew at a time.

Very Good! Keep Refrigerated.
Works well! Helps with digestion, never had any issues. Strongly recommend. (Though suggestion: Keep stored in fridge! Otherwise, you may run into pieces which are very chewy and stick like concrete to your teeth.)
