can i use two ax55s to make a mesh ?

For future reference, just like Bigbill mentioned, you can Ethernet backhaul them and set one as AP. I even have this ax55 pro with a Deco mesh (I have CenturyLink fiber but never get up to my speed plan, losing 300mbps). I swapped out my CL modem/router to this ax55 pro, then plug in main Deco to 1Gbps port. From that Deco I have a switch that connects to 2 RJ45 wall jack where I plug in directly my 2 satellite Deco units. I set my Deco running in AP mode. Another thing, as my 3 Deco covers 3300sqft so I disabled the ax55 wireless signal to utilize Deco's seamless mesh (I don't want devices to hop in between ax55 signal and the Deco mesh, I only want transition within that mesh). I know I kinda trade the 4 antennas from ax55 for the mesh but I need the 2.5Gbps port for my CL internet feed. Now I get 850mbps when plugging in which I've never seen.

can i use this as an access point?

Would this router help improve the performance of satellite internet (Hughesnet)?

your internet signal controls your speed. The router is strictly the distributor of that signal. So if that signal is say 10mb, then the router can only distribute 10mbs, however the wifi6 signal throughout will be fast. Routers are the middleware between modems and devices. think of it like water from a hose, the nozzle is like the router. You can have a fine spray or a straight spray, but the amount of water is the same.

Is this router compatible with Ziply fiber?

As long as your Internet source (e.g., modem, ONT, gateway) is connected directly to the router's Internet port using an Ethernet cable, it should work.
