Is this darbuka skin 22 cm or 8.75?

22 cm is 8.661 inches but as far as i know drum makers reference 22 cm and 8.75 inches for the same head. I dont have that particular head anymore so i cant get a ruler out but i would expect them to be the same. Next size up 9 inches or 23 cm…. Actually 9.055. Wish i could help you more but its been some years since i purchased that head.

Is the measurement of the head for the seating surface or the overall diameter of the ring?

I have installed the head I purchased so I cant give you an exact answer but I can tell you that the measurement of the playing surface of the head installed is 8 and 11/16 inches. It has been my experience that drums of different makers vary ever so little and the ring and head stretch a little so I haven't had a problem fitting heads of different manufacturers. Hope this answer is of help. If it fits I don't think you will be disappointed.
