No, it's part of the mirror and is reflective.

Can you adjust the hangers on the back of the mirror? I need to hang it rectangle with the hanging things raised higher on the back of mirror..

No, the way this mirror works, you can hang it either vertically or horizontally, but cannot adjust the size or the depth of the hanging "holes". They are permanent holes in the back for a large headed screw or nail to enter. No strings or wires are needed I bought the 30 X36 inch size and have it hung horizontally over my 36" vanity. It is very thin and of course doesn't have a frame around the edge. It is very pretty and looks great in my new bathroom. I asked the contractor if I needed to support the bottom with clear mirror or glass support hangers and he said "no". Hope this helps you make a decision.

Design misleading by picture

Not as photo. The beveling is no more than 1/8 inch from side. Started to return it but can make it work for where I am going to use it. A shame that companies can be so misleading. Maybe if the glass it self was thicker. Very pretty design
