Great bit of kit
This is great, works well, has 2 holes where you can feed the filament straight into the printer, I keep it on while printing in PETG. Print quality and bed adhesion has definitely improved. Extremely easy to use.

Works Well But Can Be Very Noisy
I've been using this filament dryer since I got my 3D printer, so I can't really compare print quality with and without it. That said, it appears to be doing what it's supposed to do. The humidity reading drops quite significantly over time, which suggests it's removing moisture from the filament effectively. It's straightforward to use and fits neatly alongside my printer. I've had no issues running filament directly from it while printing. My only real complaint is the noise. Every now and then it starts making a fairly loud noise that doesn't sound particularly healthy. It doesn't happen all the time, and most of the time it's quiet enough, so I'm not sure if I've got a slightly faulty unit or if it's normal behaviour. Overall, it seems to do the job well, but I knocked a star off because of the occasional noise.

Sunlu is the boss
In my honest opinion Sunlu is one of the best filaments I've used, I've little to no issues with failed prints and the failed prints have been down to me.

Ok there are better out there but its cheap and does a pretty good job with a couple of tweaks.
Had some of my filament start really print bad and after googling the symptoms it sounded like the filament had too much moisture. So time to try a filament dryer Being a cynical (and tight) old fart I don't believe most of Amazons reviews (I have a drawer full of wireless earbuds that back me up on this) so looked around elsewhere. There were some pretty good videos that showed comparisons of dryers only a few expensive ones were really good. One guy recommended getting one of these and putting a fan in it to improve circulation and pop a sachet of silica gel in the middle of the spool to grab the moisture. Ok, that ticked my boxes: cheap and tweaked to perform like something far more expensive. Right, to cut to the chase this has worked on all but one of my filaments. It's made most print a whole lot better, revived one that was what I thought was bin fodder but could not fix one (glow in the dark pla ). It does take a while to cook the filament but it is a lot cheaper that buying new and a lot less fuss that vacuum baggies. You can print a nice little fan mount and silica gel holder on thingiverse and buy buckets the gel on here dirt cheap.

It just works - value for money
I got the dryer after the discovery of how drying filament can make such a huge difference to print quality. I use it while printing as well as sometimes before, so like a currently have been using it for 40hrs straight for a 1day print(plenty of pre print drying), as then the prints come out spotless. Ideal for if you are trying to improve your prints, doubles as an regular filament holder too if you use a bowden tube to feed it to the printer. The biggest issue is you'll find eventually you might want more than just one!

Effective filament dryer
I've had this for an hour or so, but it seems to be doing it's job pretty well. Extremely quiet, compared to my food dehumidifier it's infinitely quieter so it can live in pretty much any room. It looks well designed and came with a UK power supply (there was one review that said it didn't which I thought was odd). One thing I wanted to add was that it includes a humidity readout. Nowhere in the advert or the instructions does it mention humidity, but given the objective is to get the filament down to a certain humidity it makes sense. It's currently showing 18% on PETG after an hour, but I'll leave it for a decent time to make sure it gets low enough to use.

Buy A Better Dryer (not this one)
Overall I am disappointed in the SUNLU S1 dryer. Main reason is despite having printed a dessinant holder for it, this unit struggles to get below 35% humidity, and filament never as dry as when using other dryers (printing issues with filament dried in the S1). To top it off, after only 2 months the fan has started to make a loud noise intermittently. The return window closed 3 days ago, so this will be a paperweight. Save yourself the trouble and buy something else. This is the epitome of “buy cheap, pay twice”.

Great Unit and Great Price
Although I have been 3D printing for over 12 years, I never found much use for a dryer until recently when I bought some more exotic filament. I have used this unit a few times and found it very effective and fairly easy to use (if you read the instructions). You can set time and temperature and monitor the humidity in the camber with the digital display. The unit is extremely quiet and it has an option to feed the filament directly to your printer. Great unit and you can't beat the value with the price point. A recommend for anyone who needs a basic filament dryer at a great price.
