Cat's aren't capable of holding the pen, or operating it. Plus cats can see in low light too, so they wouldn't need it as much.. It might be good for a monkey though?

Not at all. Mine was not at all what I expected. Really have no idea what this pen is good for. Too much trouble to return. If you are looking for a solid beam this is not it.

Does this come with the stylus glare guard ?

It does come with a glare guard. I have never tried to use this product as a stylus.

Is this good to conduct dwi field test?

Yes, very good. Texas Troopers also used it in my area. 45S. Lots and lots of intoxicated drivers.
