This product works well to keep bacteria and microorganisms from growing in and around a wound. It's antiseptic properties also make it ideal to use pre-surgery. Be sure to leave it on the area for 2 solid minutes, as it bonds with the skin to form a protective barrier. The active ingredient in this cleanser is Chlorhexadine Gluconate...CHG. If you are caring for a wound, be sure to use other products that are "CHG compatible", or you might break the protective bond you've created. I have very sensitive skin and have been using it for regular wound care for years with no adverse reactions. Buy it now because the price keeps increasing!
